“I just got back from voting in Ozark, Christian County (south of Springfield). Longest lines I’ve seen at this polling place, but moving pretty fast.”

That’s encouraging to hear! Looks like we’re going to get a strong turnout from the Springfield area and that is VERY important!

Voted this morning in O'Fallon, St Charles county - very reliably red. It's the heart of Todd Akin's old 3rd Congressional district (which will now be represented by Blaine Luetkemeyer - another experienced and solid conservative).

Long lines, but everyone was pleasant and chatting as we waited. I voted around 9:00 and the number on the ballot machine was already over 600. Repubs are turning out in droves today...quite a difference from '08.

Hold your nose and vote for Akin

How about paying attention instead of buying the MSM bullsh!t .. and then voting for Akin?

Someone ahead of me spoiled their ballot by putting Xs in the little circles instead of filling them in ... the election judge said they could not count it at all.

I hope you report that to your Secretary of State.

In the 2000 election recount in Florida, even a "dimple" on the ballot was allowed to be counted as an indication of the voter's intent.

Yes, you're in a different state; but even so, if "intent" is reasonably clear, election judges in one state shouldn't have different standards than another.

I don't know, the 6 people from Springfield I've spoken to (all of whom have attended Tea Party events in the area) are voting for Dine.

A short line to get into the parking lot and had to drive around looking for a place to park my car.

Inside election judges said very heavy voting in a county that has only elected 2 dems to county office in the past 60 + years.

Do you're six friends realize they voted for a meth-head? A twice convicted felon?

Their votes will be instrumental in giving us six more years of Ma McCaskill. Great...

My local school district is closed today. This the first time that I can remember that it was closed on election day. Was this done to enable teachers to work the polls???

Calls are coming in to the radio station about people whose spouse voted early but whose name was not marked off and was still available for voting.

Another woman called in voting at Carpenter's Hall saying that her name was scratched off as having already voted early. She was filed a provisional ballot which they said would be tabulated in 14 days -- 14 days???

How many city/county offices and school districts are off today so as to work at the polls???

“If Akin wins, it will be on Mitts coat tails.”

I don’t think so! After a lot of soul searching I decided I had to hold my nose and vote for Romney. I really hope the TEA party can keep him in line.

Not so for Akin. He is the real deal.

I usually vote about 2 PM fewer people.

Today I voted at 9 AM couldn't wait and didn't want to take a chance that I might be struck by lightning before I voted.

My was thinking people on their way to work had voted and were gone. Still lots of voters and judges said very heavy voting.

Good signs from a republican county.

Too bad that the Weekly Reader is now out of business. They used to be a great indicator of how their parents would vote.

MSM bullsh!t aside, he said what he said. He hurt himself with his comments. People need to be reminded to pay attention and look at the big picture.

Odd indeed. Here in Lawrence county (where voting was busy but moved along well) there was a poll worker at the scan machine to make sure the ballot ‘took’ before collecting our pens and handing out ‘I voted’ stickers. There was no way here that a voter could leave without their ballot being counted.

Cape Girardeau County
Busy
Checking voter ID by scanning driver license or voter card with iPads, then sign the iPad. That was different.
No Obama bumper stickers in the parking lot.

I marked my ballot for Akin before marking it for Romney.

Does that give you a clue about coattails?
