The famously liberal Springsteen had never previously acknowledged the Republican governor.

Christie says he wept at home after talking by phone to his idol, calling it a major highlight during a tough week.

Sorry, no sale. Cracking under pressure is simply not okay for an elected official.

I wonder how Ann Coulter would defend Christie on this.

The best I can make of this is that at least Chris didn't get the chance to throw his panties onto the stage.

Christie dispelled all doubts about who he was voting for in Hoboken the other day - he was voting for Romney, and he said 2 people were absolutely sure who he was voting for: Romney & Obama. He also pointed out that he was the first governor to endorse Romney, had traveled widely campaigning for him and raising money, and mocked the idea that he was endorsing Obama in any way.

I don’t mind criticism of Christie from people in NJ, but anyone else should just bear in mind that you haven’t lived through the tax nightmare that is NJ, with our constant bleeding of jobs (and taxpayers), high property taxes leading to foreclosures, etc. Christie is our best bet against ending up in the same boat as California - and we’re close to that.

Christie’s property tax policies have led to the layoffs of thousands of government workers here in NJ (that we simply couldn’t afford); he deserves better here on FR. Has anyone here done more for Romney?

That right there is the problem - elected officials are human beings. They are just like the rest of us - or they should be. Varying degrees of stupid, smart, strong, soft and suckers for star power.

Christies behavior was proof that he was not ready for primetime.

He acts tough, but he did not behave as a leader.

I understand people crack under pressure, but he cracked so fast and ran to the mac daddy in record time.

There it is. Any Pol who weighs 350 pounds has neither the discipline nor self-respect to hold public office.

300 lbs of meatloaf, mashed potatoes for brains, a spine of gravy, and a heart of rainbow jello and wha-da-ya-got? a Liberal through and through... Liberals will swoon to him, but I despise him and his faux machismo...

“Let’s just ease up on Christie.” No. His obsequious fawning (I know; that’s redundant) over Hussein hit the “pause” button on Romney’s momentum. I will not ease up on Christie. If the Muslim gets another term, a huge reason will be Chris Christie. “Dirty Dancing” is a cute movie, but when the remake stars Obama and Christie, just eewwww. The GOP put him in office and he needs to “dance with the one what brung him” — not defect to the dark side.

“He is under tremendous stress and clearly it’s getting to him.” He’s supposed to be a leader. He needs to put on his big-boy pants and... lead.

“Too bad the media is paying attention to the Christie / Romney / Obama soap opera and not the catastrophe.” Too bad the MSM isn’t paying any attention to Benghazi.

“This drama is not helping the people of NJ it’s simply a media diversion from the appalling ineffectiveness of FEMA and Obama. It’s simply a media diversion from the appalling ineffectiveness of FEMA and Obama.” (1) I care more about the future of America than the people of NJ. They helped put Hussein in the White Hut. (2) The MSM wouldn’t cover the ineffectiveness of Obama and FEMA anyhow.

Puhleeze... crying over a phone call from a rock star? He’s star-struck and Hussein all over again.

Christie has a streak of liberal idiocy in him, & this is just a part of it. Weeping over a chat with a guy that sings a good tune - Michael Jackson Groupie Syndrome.

Do people give the same standard to their doctor. The surgeon lost the patient (your family member) on the table. It was completely his actions that are to blame. But let’s give hime a break, do you know what it’s like to have 4 different things going wrong all at once?

The Joisey Lardass has sold out (he was a RINO to begin with), and could very well switch his Party Affiliation in the future. If money can buy you, and Principles are sold-out, the People have no need for you.

He's getting even for being passed-over for VP, and it's showing his lack of character, for sure.

Wish we had a really good search function. I know there were several FREEPERS out there saying it had to be Christie...that he would be the right choice for POTUS or VEEP.

How about it now? Anyone willing to fess up?

We don’t mind your Gov blubbering and losing it and screwing up things for you guys as much as you might, but as soon as he brought it into a national arena grabbing BO like Bugs Bunny on a roll, he opened it up to national criticism.
