KEANSBURG, N.J. New Jersey's famously tough-talking governor finally got a hug from his longest-running unrequited love.
The famously liberal Springsteen had never previously acknowledged the Republican governor.
Christie says he wept at home after talking by phone to his idol, calling it a major highlight during a tough week.

Lower the flag Chris.....
Christie makes me puke.
The big fat load gov is worthless.
Yeah for a bag of Silver he lost a career
christie has gone batt sheit crazy
He’ll be switching parties soon. He likes the limo service.
He should just say he is a democrat already
Dude’s off his meds or else gambling on running as “Mr. Reach-Across-the- Aisles” in the future.

And Then She Wept - Brecker Brothers
This fat toad has made a fool out of himself.
Sad part for Chris is that his newfound dem hacks who embrace him now will poop on him if Obama wins. His usefulness will be over.
The voters will poop on him too. This dope is like Arlen Specter.
Springsteen is his hero? Grow up, Christie.
Let’s just ease up on Christie. He is under tremendous stress and clearly it’s getting to him. Too bad the media is paying attention to the Christie/Romney/Obama soap opera and not the catastrophe.
This drama is not helping the people of NJ it’s simply a media diversion from the appalling ineffectiveness of FEMA and Obama.
PLEASE New Jersey either PRIMARY this FAT BASTARD OR elect a DEMOCRAT!
Another reason Christie is a wimp——I DESPISE Bruce Springsteen!
Put a fork in his national political career——it’s over.
I’d say he wanted VP really, really bad...Shows Mitt made the right choice.
isn’t it time for his forced party swap?
This guy is not, nor has ever been Presidential material.
He will never ever be President, and if he is allowed anywhere near the nomination, it will be an electoral landslide in the wrong direction.
I think the story originated with HuffPo, not the best source.
The Christie office has denied this. BTW, if you havent heard his state has been devastated by a storm. Perhaps he shouldnt be out campaigning.
He jumped the shark but there’s no need to make stuff up.
I really think he’s lost it— the stress of Sandy has rendered him an emotional mess. What person in their right mind would tell everyone that they cried over Bruce Springsteen?
The dude has to grow up.
He wept after receiving a call from Springsteen?
(Bonkers)
IMHO
I thought something seemed odd when Christie, who campaigned strongly for Romney in the primaries, seemed invisible in the general election. Maybe it was the VP thing.
He just lost my respect, and any chance of a vote.(as if he ever had a chance)
Has Ann Coulter said anything about Christie’s behaviour? I haven’t seen her. The one she loves so much could very well have undermined the candidate she endorsed.
The hot & now sign at Krispy Kreme probably does the same
The Dems will use him, he will switch parties and then they will dump him. What goes around comes around. JMO
You are not alone. Only fools would think he was sincere about anything.
If anyone believes that he is for real, they are idiots.
What person in their right mind would tell everyone that they cried over Bruce Springsteen?...I cried over some of his recordings. Whatever happened to George Thorogood?
The next Charlie Crist !
Judas in a tarp not robe .
Cant decide if he is Tweedledee or Tweedledum?
Either way I never liked the fat slob.
Always reminded me of the dip-shit kid in grade school that gave out the pencils and ratted out the other kids.
George is a Delaware guy.... Christie is finished outside of New Jersey after this week's shenanigans. And maybe in New Jersey too.
Willing to sell out The Nation for his 2016 plans.
...Hope you’re watching this Krispy Kreme in action...
..Ann Coulter !
This reminds me of taking kids to Disney World; for $ 25, when you check in at one of the hotels, your child gets a personalized welcome call from one of the Disney characters. Looks like Governor Christie was bought more cheaply, by a call from a faded rock star who can’t fill an arena for Obama.
You nailed it, been thinking the same thing. His appearance with Obama and now this, all leads one to think he was overwhelmed by the destruction of Sandy and went on tilt.
dont know what to think about that except that maybe the suffering in the state is a lot worse than is obvious from afar and he is feeling it. Maybe give him a pass on it.
And to think some people actually thought Christie was presidential material. His lackluster convention speech should have been the first clue to an audience who didn’t know him. His abysmal performance with Obama last week should be the clincher.
a fat blubbering sac of spit RHINO. get DUMBO A JOB at pmsnbc.
Did you weep for the dead and homeless?????
Hey Ann Coulter......NOW what do you think about your idol???
Sorry, no sale. Cracking under pressure is simply not okay for an elected official.
I wonder how Ann Coulter would defend Christie on this.
Thank God thus buffoon didn’t make it on our ticket!!!
Mr. niteowl77
Christie dispelled all doubts about who he was voting for in Hoboken the other day - he was voting for Romney, and he said 2 people were absolutely sure who he was voting for: Romney & Obama. He also pointed out that he was the first governor to endorse Romney, had traveled widely campaigning for him and raising money, and mocked the idea that he was endorsing Obama in any way.
I don’t mind criticism of Christie from people in NJ, but anyone else should just bear in mind that you haven’t lived through the tax nightmare that is NJ, with our constant bleeding of jobs (and taxpayers), high property taxes leading to foreclosures, etc. Christie is our best bet against ending up in the same boat as California - and we’re close to that.
Christie’s property tax policies have led to the layoffs of thousands of government workers here in NJ (that we simply couldn’t afford); he deserves better here on FR. Has anyone here done more for Romney?
Is it a sick joke?
What a fragile flower is Chris Christie. So precious. (gag)
That right there is the problem - elected officials are human beings. They are just like the rest of us - or they should be. Varying degrees of stupid, smart, strong, soft and suckers for star power.
Christies behavior was proof that he was not ready for primetime.
He acts tough, but he did not behave as a leader.
I understand people crack under pressure, but he cracked so fast and ran to the mac daddy in record time.
