As an All-American defensive back on the 1989 Division III champion University of Dayton football team, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted played in some big games. Come Nov. 7, he may be a player in the biggest contest in all of politics, with the U.S. presidency riding on the outcome.
Husted makes the rules for how and when Ohios votes are cast. In a tight race like the one between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney those rules can determine who wins the states 18 electoral college votes, and the White House. Despite the presence in Ohio of thousands of lawyers for both campaigns, Husted has not shied away from controversy. He fought against early voting for the weekend before the election all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court this year, and lost. On Friday he issued a directive making provisional ballots less likely to be counted by requiring voters to fill out extra paperwork.

He’s a good guy and not afraid of the left or the crap they throw at him.
Hopefully he won’t. But I don’t really care what Democrats say if the power of this government is transferred out of Obama’s hands. As far as I’m concerned, it is time for the tables to be turned on these America-haters and we should not be shy about it one bit.
Let them bleat, let them cry to the media, let them riot, let them sue.
I think Ohio will generally be fine. I’m not expecting a lot of fraud in this state this time round. It’s Republican government is very principled.
He seems to be a nice guy. Hopefully the media will not make him to be the 2012 version of Katherine Harris.
As a fellow Ohioan, I hope he minimizes voter fraud so it does not impact the honest results.
We shall drive them into the sea and salt their lands.
Right on! However, they don’t actually work - or grow anything.... we’ll just have to settle for taking their TANF, SNAP, EITC, Section 8, etc.
Most powerful guy in Ohio?
I thought that was Coach Urban!
Wonder how many Dems are voting twice - or more - due to early voting.
