Final Romney Rally Rocks New Hampshire: 10K Overflow Crowd at 11PM
Big Government ^ | 11/6/12 | Tony Lee

Mitt Romney closed his campaign in the state where it began -- New Hampshire -- in front of a raucous, energetic, and enthusiastic crowd of over 10,000 at the Verizon Center. Thousands more people were outside of the arena, unable to get into the event.

“This is a special moment for Ann and for me because this is where our campaign began," Romney said, noting that his victory in New Hampshire's primary put him "on the path to win the Republican nomination."

Rock Star Kid Rock performed at the event, which Romney used to contrast his hopeful message for America with Obama's campaign.

Romney predicted, “Tomorrow, your votes and work here in New Hampshire will help me become the next president of the United States."

Obama won New Hampshire by 10 points in 2008 but is essentially tied with Romney heading into Election Day, with momentum on Romney's side.

Romney claimed Obama was "offering excuses" while he offered an alternative plan -- that Obama wants "to settle" while he could not wait to get started.

"Americans don't settle," Romney beamed. "We aspire and build."

I don’t care what the polls say...the huge crowds from Romney and the small turnout for Obama means more.

This crowd passion would seem to say nope - he isn’t. Romney doesn’t need gimmicks, free food or celebrities to get people to come. People come to see him not secondary events!

Romney is definitely the most positive and energetic candidate we've had since 1980. Bush Sr. ran two lackluster campaigns - got lucky the first time but run off the rails the second time. Dole...enough said. GW Bush ran competent campaigns but not a lot of fire in the belly either time. McCain just plain gave up.

That all being said, I think we get results today comparable to 1980 and like back then, everybody will be surprised at the strength of Romney's victory today.

Americans respond well to positive, upbeat campaigns. Romney was all that this election season. Obama is looking like Carter, a beaten down, burned out and bitter man.

I don’t know much about this guy Kid Rock. But he’s been working his ass off on the campaign. He seems to be just about everywhere Romney is. Very impressive.

I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by Romney and until the debates, I had been only a lukewarm supporter of his. He has worked his tail off on this election and has been most impressive. And I couldn’t agree with you more on our presidential candidates since Reagan left office. Remember when GW Bush leisurely took off the final weekend before the 2000 election to relax at his Texas ranch and Gore and Lieberman, to their credit, campaigned around the clock in Florida and we know how that turned out? Romney, by contrast, campaigned late into last night and has two rallies scheduled TODAY in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Kid Rock has been solid as a rock for Mitt. I don’t know his music but I am buying one of his albums for my iPod today just to say THANK YOU Kid Rock for your tireless support!!!

I am not much of a Kid Rock music fan but he is a HUGE supporter of the troops and America.

He has been tireless in supporting the troops, entertaining them in war zones and around the world and is a 100% certifiable upstanding American. He also has a foundation that sends money to local charities, believing that locals know best how to take care of their own.

Again, I’m not a huge fan of his music but I am a giant fan of the man. I salute Kid Rock!

I don’t know enough about the Kid’s music to comment. I suspect, however, that I’m not big on it. (Mahler’s third is playing on Spotify as I type this).

But...like a previous poster said, if Romney wins this thing, I am gonna buy some Kid Rock...just to say thank you!

Or, as the LemmingStreamMedia would say...”This event doesn’t hold any significance because the arena restrooms weren’t fully occupied.”

The thing I’ve been noticing the last couple of days is, how few signs there are for Zero and Plugs; I drove by some mansion a half hour ago, the front lawn was covered with campaign signs for all the Demwit officeseekers, but that was probably some trust-fund [characterization omitted] who doesn’t have to work for a living. That is, after all, the constituency of that party.

The polling place I use is swamped, still. It was a long line at 7:15 am (my own fault for not getting there before the doors opened) and again about an hour ago, and again about ten minutes ago.
