As a former Libertarian presidential contender, the 2008 Libertarian vice presidential nominee, the former chairman of the Libertarian National Campaign Committee, and the man called "Mr. Libertarian" by media across this country, you might be surprised to find Im supporting Republican Mitt Romney for president. Yes, this Las Vegan has gone all in for Mitt. Why? Because Mitt Romney is the only sane choice for Libertarians.
Its simple. Libertarians believe in less government; lower taxes; cutting rules, regulations and mandates to get government out of the way of small business; reining in out-of-control government agencies like the EPA; auditing the Fed; and balancing the budget. Sound familiar?
So do Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. Certainly a little less than Libertarians, including me, would like. But, Ill take incremental progress over no progress. Mitt Romney is a step in the right direction.
Barack Obama is a thousand miles in the wrong direction . . . .

Last week I saw one of the lib media networks talking with Ohio voters. They asked one guy who he supports. He said “Ron Paul” but that since he isn’t running now he will probably vote for Obama.
And once again, the jokes just write themselves.
Thanks richardb72.
I posted the following on a similar thread and I believe it it is applicable here.
“looking for others to unstop your sewer while you remain pure? Im enthusiastic about this election because of the prospect of getting rid of obama. New York votes still count in the popular vote and he needs to be beaten badly enough to dampen there efforts at challenges etc. but if you believe that your and other libertarian votes are inconsequential, stand firm and revel in your irrevelance.”
The photo of Gary Johnson with his peace T-shirt isn’t much better than the only other campaign picture of him, standing in front of a billboard size backdrop of a marajuana leaf, giving his stump speech.
I understand the electoral college and the election of 2000. I don’t share your entuusiasm for thge libetarian candidate or believe that if he gets 1% of the vote or less it will really matter. The bigger the margin of victory the less crap we’ll have and the % of vote that the liberteran’s isn’t going to get them any attention or respect unless they actually cost Romney a close state that would make a difference, in New York your vote for a libetarian makes you irrevelant, in Pennsylvania it could cost Romney the election.

I think I was quite clear also, as close as the election was and the popular vote was those votes that went to goode or johnson or whoever would probably have been added to Romney’s total giving him a popular vote margin, and I KNOW it’s the electoral vote that really counts, and thereby removing the, “he didn’t really win” mantra from the left had Romney won a close race. He didn’t so it’s a moot point. Conservatives and or Republicans will probably never win the presidency again because we fail to come together in a common effort. I did not support Romney for the nomination and was not enthusiastic for him bur enthusiastic about beating obama. I believe mr. johnson and mr. paul are satisfied with the outcome of the election, Colorado did legalize dope. I’ll happily vote for a RINO) Republican anyday over a libertine.
