Yeah, Christie Hurt
National Review ^ | 11/5/12 | Rich Lowry

Posted on 11/05/2012 4:08:20 PM PST by markomalley

My understanding from checking around the last day or two–after emerging from a semi-news blackout last week–is that Christie’s robust embrace of President Obama did break through and help President Obama rebut part of Romney’s closing argument that he can work across the aisle better than the president. Yesterday, the New York Post ran an editorial begging Christie to make a strong show of support for Romney. That kind of show of support might have been particularly important to Romney (and convenient for Christie) in the Philadelphia suburbs. But now it’s too late.

UPDATE: Jon Ward reports on Christie turning down a Romney request to appear at his Philly-area rally.

I could say, “I told you so.” Chris Christie was very popular here on FR for quite a while, based almost entirely on a couple of YouTube videos that showed him giving hell to the Teacher’s Union.

But it was soon obvious, of you really looked, that it was nothing but empty words. He was very good at ranting and raving, but he never DID anything.

As I tried to persuade people back then, he was never any better than Christie Whitman.

Although, as it now appears, he is considerably WORSE than Christie Whitman.

With his fat body supporting his fat head with a fat mouth, Christy has a fat chance of moving up in our political system.

I figure that Christie was told that unless he made a few appearances with Obama, said some very flattering words, made him appear bipartisan, etc., there would be no money coming to his state. That must have been a tough decision. At lease I hope that’s what caused him to make me want to throw up listening to him.

There’s also the simple coming up for reelection theory, and -the he’s-a-nasty-piece-of-work-who-is-getting-even-for-not-being-picked-for-veep theory.

Not sure if this was posted in FreeRepublic yet.

Is This What Christie Wanted?

Christie says he wept at home after meeting his idol, calling it a major highlight during a tough week.

Christie should team up with John McCain.

Oh man! He cried after talking to Bruce Springsteen? Fatty Arbuckle is emotionally unstable and needs to be crapped out of the GOP like food poisoning. I hope Corey Booker obliterates him in the governor’s race.

He should be weeping for the people suffering after the non-union crews sent to help them were sent away.

This doesn't sound like the kind of guy who was one of the first to endorse Romney.

Leave him in Jersey. There's probably no room for Christie at the Cabinet table anyway.

His speech at the convention was a sleeper. I believe he is so out of shape that he was winded.

Does no one realize that bandwagon and appeal to authority are fallacies?

People, there is one equation that elects. Not polls. Not a photo op. Not a cameo appearance. Not an endorsement.

Vote.

That is all.

Hey Rich.

Get Gramma to give you that luke warm chicken broth enema again.

Then you and Fat Boy can disappear as both you so richly deserve.

He need to lose 150 pounds and get the poison out of his system. Maybe then he could think straight. NJ is hard enough to handle without 40 weight motor oil running through you veins! Seriously!

That might be a reasonable start but 200 minimum would be required to get him into more normal zones. The guy is a tub

” ...we will get Obamacare”

We already HAVE Obamacare. It is the law of the land, signed into law by Obama and upheld by the Supreme Court.

This country is F’d.

Either way tomorrow goes, this country is F’d.

Christie is TOAST. Obama played him like a violin to get a good photo op that will be seen as an obama endorsement. Meanwhile residents of NJ are left out hanging in the wind and they WILL remember the non help that Christie got for them.
