TUCKER CARLSON AND NEIL PATEL: Wave goodbye to the Obama media
Daily Caller ^ | 11/05/2012 | Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel

Posted on 11/05/2012 8:44:23 AM PST by george76

By tomorrow night we’ll likely know the name of the next president. But we already know the loser in this election cycle: political reporters. They’ve disgraced themselves. Conservatives have long complained about liberal bias in the media, and with some justification. But it has finally reached the tipping point. Not in our lifetimes have so many in the press dropped the pretense of objectivity in order to help a political candidate. The media are rooting for Barack Obama. They’re not hiding it.

Consider Benghazi. An American consulate is destroyed and a US ambassador murdered at a time when the president is boasting at every campaign stop that he has crushed al-Qaida. In an effort not to disrupt this narrative, the White House and the Obama campaign spend weeks claiming the incident was merely a protest over a video, rather than a real terror attack. Then intelligence surfaces showing just the opposite: The killers in Benghazi were no street mob, and Obama knew as much from the beginning.

...

Through their dishonesty the legacy media hastened their own end. Their moral authority has evaporated. So has their business model. Wave them goodbye on the way out.

With Romney as president the press will “ rediscover” it’s roll as skeptics and investigators with a vengeance ......

Someone will write a book on it someday... I hope they name names...

Someone already wrote that book...

We need NAMES here, FRiends.

Yes, there are “many” in the press who are awful, unethical, biased in the extreme and outright Democrat operatives disguised as objective reporters. Got that. Known it for a long time.

But we need a specific list of names. Exactly WHO do we chase out of the press room after the votes are counted? Somebody needs to start of list of those who should never again be listened to or taken seriously on anything.

Let’s start the list with Chris “Tingle Up My Leg” Matthews, but it can’t stop there. And we can’t settle for a vague “many” offenders. We need names.

I’m of the opinion that a Romney presidency, if it happens, simply will re-energize them.

If Rathergate 2004, where a cabal of senior media execs set out to defeat a sitting President with fabricated documents could not take out CBS, nothing will.

Re: “The Legacy Media Business Model”

They don’t have a business model.

They don’t care if they make money.

They are impassioned Hard Left political activists.

“In the last 4 years the alternative/new media/social media media has given the old main stream media a run for it’s money.”

You are very correct about that. However, there is still a substantial amount of Americans, who I’ll refer to as “low-information voters” who get their news from Jon Stewart, Bill Maher or CBS. These people are the most dangerous because of their low ability to perceive right from wrong as well as to understand what constitutes an accurate news story vs a biased news story.

Until we can find a way to get to these people and tell them to turn on their f***ing brains, this nation is in big trouble.

There are not enough liberal elites to keep the publishing industry afloat.

How's about that. The liberal media ended up bucking one of the tried-and-true rules of business: "If you want to live in the Upper East Side, you sell to Queens. If you want to live in Queens, you sell to the Upper East Side."

Well, Bob ain't their uncle after all.

I predict a lot of firings at msnbc if Romney wins a landslide. The know they’re in trouble and they know why. When the people give them a slap across the face they’ll say “We aren’t happy with the direction our network is going. Therefore we’re happy to announce the following new talking heads.”

I can dream, can’t I.

Journalism sealed their fate years ago. As each of them die off from natural causes, no one will remember who they are. They all try to make a name for themselves with no credibility to back them up but in the end they will be just another blip in the excerpts of Who's Who. The few on our side will live on as the ones that said “see, told you so” which is far more memorable than “you better see it my way and not the way it is”.
