Obama's Biggest Failure as President

Every American who isn’t a zealous adherent of Barack Obama has a favorite reason why this President is a failure; God knows, there are certainly enough reasons to choose from. But there is one shortcoming that is, in the long run, the most significant – and regrettably so, because Obama is uniquely qualified, and could have vastly improved America as a whole, had he addressed the issue. It is to have confronted the destruction of the Black family that has been the hallmark of the Black underclass for the last 40 years. Yet as he approaches the end of his Presidency, he has done virtually nothing.

When he was elected, Mr. Obama was celebrated by many Americans for two historic and important qualities. First, he was perceived as an important symbol that represented America’s triumph over the era in our history when Blacks were treated as second-class citizens. There’s no doubt that America has nurtured and given opportunity to exceptional Black minds, including the two outstanding Black Secretaries of State who served under President Bush. But never before had a predominantly white country elected a Black man as its leader, and especially a country that had been so painfully tested by racial strife. Second, he set a shining example of the modern, stable Black family. He and his wife and their two beautiful children were – and continue to be – a model for all to aspire.

Paul Tough interviewed President Obama for an article that was recently published in the New York Times Sunday Magazine. The column, titled “What Does Obama Really Believe In?” was a precursor to his newly-released book, How Children Succeed. Mr. Tough observed that Obama has abandoned speaking about the poor, pointing out that “Obama hasn’t made a single speech about poverty as President, and if you visit barackobama.com these days, you would be hard-pressed to find any reference to the subject whatsoever.” If he doesn’t talk about poverty, then he doesn’t address its root causes, which in the Black community are closely tied to the lack of family structure and the absence of fathers. Obama would be the perfect person to lead a cultural revolution on this issue; but, like the fathers themselves, he has been conspicuously absent.

Mr. Tough’s book focuses on the educational challenges that exist today and how to overcome them. His research concludes that parenting is critically important to the success of children, and that “parents and other caregivers who are able to form close, nurturing relationships with their children can foster resilience in them that protects from many of the worst effects of a harsh early environment.” He goes on to state that “The effect of good parenting is not just emotional or psychological, the neuroscientists say; It is biochemical. “ In addition, the book also emphasizes the importance of character development to the success of a child.

Former Congressman Kweisi Mfume, former head of the NAACP, was asked by radio host and author Larry Elder “Between the presence of white racism, and the absence of black fathers, which is the bigger problem?” Mfume’s answer was simple: fathers. Unfortunately, Obama has been invisible in the fight to establish stronger families in Black America. You have not seen him speaking from the pulpit of a church, expressing the vital importance of taking responsibility for one’s children, and stressing the basic principle that without solid, positive parenting, children are most likely doomed. Obama understands this as well as anyone, yet there is hardly an utterance from our first Black president on the crisis that endangers not only Black America, but all Americans.

In his column, Mr. Tough mentioned that in 2007, Obama acknowledged that “changing the odds in our cities will require humility in what we can accomplish and patience with our progress.” Obama stated that real change would take more than that and then added “Most importantly, it will require the sustained commitment of the President of the United States.” And yet when I asked Mr. Tough whether Obama had addressed the issues of parenting and character in the Black community, he admitted with much regret that Mr. Obama had barely worked on the issue.

Despite the immense hope for this President when he took the oath of office, no one expected him to single-handedly heal the problems of the family structure and education within the Black community. But even in his own words, he knew that he had to undertake the challenge with a sustained effort. Unfortunately and sadly, our President has spent more time golfing than tackling this problem.

What a loss for our country. What a failure.

Obama's Biggest Failure as President

Fail? I didn't fail I did what Mommy, Frank, Grandad and my teachers told me to do. Take from the oppressor and give to the needy. This is fun I want to play some more! Oh! and a special thanks to Bill and his friends!

His biggest failure will always be a matter of opinion considering he failed at everything. What is most interesting is his failures when he succeeded.

He succeeded at health care but failed because even his supporters know it sucks.

He succeeded in getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan but failed to accomplish anything worthy.

Obama is a truly worthless human being.

What I see is another person who placed his own hopes into the empty box that was Obama and gave it to the “one”. What he received in return when he opened it up was the rancid remains of own hopes and dreams.

“Hope”, “Change”, it’s what the beholder saw and desired. It’s not what was really there for Obama’s Hope and Change weren’t the same as the rest of America’s.

Any failure that is Obama’s must be seen in light of the fact that he had ruling majorities in both Senate and House for his first 2 years. He was filibuster proof in the Senate, and his majority in the House was such that he owned every committee, every process, every decision, everything.

Gitmo - he could have closed it.
Afghanistan - he could have pulled out.
The Black Family - he could have started some initiative
Budget - he could have passed any budget he wanted
Illegal Amnesty - it would have gone through with flying colors
Defense of Marriage - he could have rescinded it.

The list just goes on. You name it. There is no national level policy that he could not have implemented. None.

And he didn’t.

I take it the Zero shouldn’t count on your support tomorrow.

The amazing thing is he’ll never understand it.

The only explanation for his not doing more with both House and Senate with ruling majorities is laziness and apathy.

That explains why the editor of Harvard Review had no article published.

That explains why he’s afraid to publish his transcripts (besides the residency issues)

That explains why his brother lives in squalor

That explains why he showed up at the first debate stoned.

That explains 100+ rounds of golf and countless games of basketball.

He doesn’t mind being a radical marxist when he has time for it, but please don’t bother him when the links are calling.

Finally, you guessed right: I’m not voting for him. :>)

Never before in the history of the presidency, certainly in my life time, was a man elected who had the potential to the most for our country and the world.

He squandered that opportunity.

Those of us here at FR recognized that the man lacked any experience and aptitude for the job, and let’s be frank we saw thru his facade, but just the same we gave him a chance, like we do all presidents.

Within a few short weeks it was clear that he brought nothing to the table. There was nothing that he was going to teach us as Americans, in fact there was more we could teach him.

In the truest sense he was not this generations’ Jackie Robinson, and like the article says, he was not the ultimate roll model for black people in this country.

He was not the Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, Allen West or Condi Rice to young black kids. He was more like Jesse Jackson.

I agree with the article. He had the greatest opportunity to heal, and perhaps on the world stage to lead Muslims to a more Ghandi like passion.

AFTER HE LOSES TOMORROW, AND LOSES BIG, I THINK WE WILL BEGIN TO HEAR THE TRUTH ABOUT HIM AND HIS PRESIDENCY FROM THE INSIDERS FROM THE SS AGENTS TO THE COOKS AND CARETAKERS, AND PERHAPS FROM STAFF MEMBERS.

Then the news media will find his faults, and report them, starting with the man’s background, school transcripts etc etc....Because to not do this would be for them to admit that they were wrong.

The writer's error is in mistaking Obama's purpose. He was not striving to help lift the lower classes of rooted American Negroes out of social chaos. As a committed enemy of the American tradition, he wants to make all of us more dependent upon Government; less responsible, less able to build self-sustaining communities, businesses & families.

Moreover, Obama's background must not be confused with that of most of Black America. His Kenyan Luo background is as alien to the West African roots of Black Americans, as Iraqi Caucasoid roots are to the Anglo-Saxon & Celtic roots of the majority of the original White Americans. Only the most superficial analysis will be based on skin tone as a major influence on ethnic patterns of thought.

Obama has never--absolutely never--identified in any way with Black American Conservatives, the Booker T. Washington to Thomas Sowell intellectuals, who have actually endeavored to uplift their fellow citizens.

Obama, since his College days, has been actively working for the decline of the values that made America & Americans, the most successful of the earth's peoples. He has actively pursued the destruction of America--whether consciously or by sub-conscious hatred of our traditions-- throughout that period.

We are Losing America's Multi-Generational Purpose, as it is, and another four years of Obama must be seen as the most destructive thing yet to any hope of a recovery.

Tomorrow, we dare not fail!

Opportunity to heal? Heal What? Heal problems manufactured and sold by a nitwit empty headed buffoon elected by empty headed self absorbed voters.

Obama was a far bigger problem than any problem that needed fixing.

What every made anyone think his BS could accomplish anything is beyond my comprehension. He’s just a tool.
