One Last Chance to Kill Obamacare
American Spectator ^ | 11/5/12 | David Catron

Barack Obama's promise to cure the ills of our health care system was obviously an important factor in his 2008 victory over John McCain as well as that year's Democrat gains in the House and Senate. Most of the electorate favored some legislation that would slow rising medical costs and increase access to care. However, when Obamacare finally slogged out of the congressional slough, it was greeted with consternation and outrage. Instead of the reform they were promised, the voters got a grotesque government behemoth reeking of corruption. They were not amused. They appeared en masse at town hall meetings to harangue their representatives, organized a series of public protests and finally marched on Washington.

All for naught, of course. The President and his congressional accomplices ignored the voters, patronizing them with the assurance that they would learn to love "reform" once they understood it. But the electorate still regards the thing with fear and loathing. A recent Rasmussen survey showed that 54% of likely voters favor repeal, the precise percentage who opposed the law when it passed. Nonetheless, if the President is re-elected, ObamaCare will become a permanent feature of the entitlement landscape. The Supreme Court has demonstrated that it won't protect us from the beast's depredations, and a high priority of a second Obama term will be full implementation of his most important domestic "achievement."

The only way to kill this monster is full repeal. And, for all intents and purposes, tomorrow offers the last chance to set that process in motion. The need to take advantage of this opportunity is made manifest by a review of what the President and the Democrat Congress wrought in the name of "reform." It isn't possible to cover all of Obamacare's flaws in one column, but the point can be made

It will be interesting to see if President Romney gets rid of Obamacare. I don’t think he is going to make us very happy most of the time.

We have the numbers to win this election at the Presidential and Congressional levels... IF we get massive turnout on our side. This is one of the most historic gut checks for Americans` desire to remain free.

Tomorrow is it, folks. Does our side thirst for freedom, or will large percentages throw the election to Obama by staying home or wasting their votes on also-rans?? Within 48 hours, we`re going to have our answer.

We need to have 50 senators who will vote to repeal.

I hope and pray we get an answer in 48 hours. With the early voting scams, the email voting, fax voting, “send my vote by pidgeon” voting ...we might not get an answer for a LONG time ... this is my fear right now.

Scott Rasmussen just told our local radio host,Jeff Kuhner, that he’s pretty sure Warren will beat Brown in MA.

If we have everything but a Senate majority then Romney in 2014 has to make the case why he want the Senate or else.

Before its said and finally killed off we must post the names of the pharmacutical groups that will be directly benefitting from Obamacare, there is and has been a strong effort to keep this out of the news, they are very powerful and they invested heavily into getting Obamacare passed.

To see the list of new Obamacare taxes & controls, go to thread # 2954458.

One item, effective jan 2013, is a cap on executive pay for anyone working in the health companies. That cap is $500,000.

Sounds OK to alot of people......but think about this:

The CEO of Sesame Street, a single program on PBS which runs only once a week for a very short time, has a salary of $684,000 +++.

Someone needs to explain to me how a health company executive deserves to get paid less for a job which keeps a company busy with thousands of employees 24/7/365 versus the CEO of Sesame Street. After a lifetime of being a bookkeeper, I just don’t understand.

There may be some type of on line computer program available to family practice doctors with Medicare and the upcoming OboZocare.

The docs can enter their average daily patient count and then the % of MediCare and upcoming Obozo care for his payments.

Then, he/she enters his monthly costs and days worked per month.

He/she then gets the # of patients per day he/she has to see just to break even.

Some offices are telling staff that some of them will be terminated at the end of the year. Some are laying off staff now.

Staff that is kept, with the exception of an office manager and maybe one other “exempt” worker, will not work over 24 hours per week to avoid having to pay for their Obama care.

Thanks to the rats and Obozo care, we may be entering an era without single family practice or 2-3 doctor practices.

If Romney stays true to his promise that he will immediately grant waivers to all 57 States, then it is dead in the water no matter the makeup of Congress. If Obama can do it with some 1000’s of special interest groups and get away with it, so can Romney.

If anybody thinks this is going to be a filibuster-proof conservative Senate, they're smoking something better than I ever did.

They'll be lucky to get a budget past Harry Reid. Yet RINOs are our biggest problem, if you get my Angle.

If Obama is re-elected, the “recovery”, largely based upon part-time and fast food jobs, will only get worse because of Obamacare. The writing is on the wall- this is not positive news- don’t make this mistake again, America...:

“Health-Care Law Spurs a Shift to Part-Time Workers

“...restaurants, hotels and retailers have started or are preparing to limit schedules of hourly workers to below 30 hours a week. That is the threshold at which large employers in 2014 would have to offer workers a minimum level of insurance or pay a penalty starting at $2,000 for each worker.”

If Romney stays true to his promise that he will immediately grant waivers to all 57 States, then it is dead in the water no matter the makeup of Congress.

Inasmuch as I agree to the sentiment, what happens to the rule of law then? Yes, I know, the Slave Party RATS don't care about laws when it comes to what they'll reach to do. But when we fall to that level, how are we ever going to get back to passing laws that actually matter? For if what you want is to empower administrative bureaucracy as the fourth branch of government and the only one that really matters, this is how it becomes inculcated.

I think the better path is to may be to challenge the premises under Roberts' ruling taking this back to the Supremes as a matter of the administrative branch showing itself unwilling to violate the limits of its enumerated powers. That gets us around a fruitless battle with Harry Reid and precludes him from becoming the most powerful thug in Washington.
