Barack Obama, the unhappy warrior
By GLENN THRUSH | 11/5/12 4:39 AM EST

Barack Obama’s enthusiasm gap began at home.

There is a surprisingly simple explanation for Obama’s up-and-down performance as a candidate during his reelection grind in 2012, for those lackluster TV appearances, for that epic flop Oct. 3 on the Denver debate stage that might yet cost him his presidency on Tuesday.

Until the final sprint, he just wasn’t that into it.

I'm sure he'll have a fine career community organizing again.

Even Politico is trying to spin down Obama now. How about the fact that, once Obama had an actual record to run on, he could give the American people no good reason to re-elect him?

It says “charisma challenged Romney” towards the end of the article. Romney has been VERY charismatic these last few weeks!! I never found Obama to be the least bit charismatic ever. All he could do was read teleprompters, pause dramatically, and then continue reading!!

I agree that Obama appears to not care about winning though and I voiced that same opinion to my husband after the first debate. Maybe living a continuous lie at all times is proving too stressful.

After four years of instilling regulations, laws, progressives in the agencies, in the courts, forcing gays onto our military and our schools, putting people in places of control of the schools who are progressive and forcing millions onto the government dole, does anyone think that Obama cares if he wins this election?

Unless Romney goes in and defies the media and the people on government teat and clears them out, we win the senate and keep the House, Obama and his I’ll can sit back and watch the continuing slide toward socialism till the next election.

I don’t believe that he was just ‘not that into it’. In my view, he has bought into the hype that has surrounded him well before he even ran for the Presidency. He, like many in the liberal ranks, truly believes that his world view and knowledge is superior to those who don’t agree with him, and therefore likely felt that he was somewhat above it all. This is the guy who described himself as ‘having a gift’, and who published an autobiographical book before he was 40. IMHO he thought he would be able to ‘turn on the magic’ and convince people to vote for him. I would bet his head is spinning a bit right now.

I’ve been hearing these “he won’t leave without a fight” stories since the days of Ronald Reagan. I think the past four years has been miserable for for Barack Hussein Obama. Being told what to do everyday by Valerie Jarrett, David Axlerod, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi. Not being able to cruise to his favorite Bath Houses. I think he’s ready to retire to his Hawaii mansion, with separate bedrooms from Michelle and separate Choom Room and Bath House for his “needs”.

Obama officials say their boss had no choice but to run the campaign he did, given Romney's fact-challenged attacks on Obama’s record.

If Romney's attacks were "fact-challenged", then why were liberals not able to refute mere lies?

Romney merely presented "fact-based" history and narratives, which couldn't be refuted.

These people live in their own fantasy world.

It’s pretty simple. Obama started campaigning for his re-election within a few weeks of taking office. He’s been flying around the country giving stump speech after stump speech for years now. He couldn’t stop talking. Now he’s tired and all talked out. He’s trying desperately to put one foot in front of another so he can finish his own marathon, that he started long, long ago.

A part of me thinks he would love to lose, because he’s never had to work this hard for anything EVER. He doesn’t have it in him to go the distance.

Indeed. It’s a Lose Lose proposition being re relected now.

On one hand if he loses, he won’t be impeached. If on the other hand, he wins he inherits the Obama economy and he’s impeached.

Why not just slink off to Hawa’ii and collect his pension, eat Sno Cones and spend the rest of his short life criticizing republicans.

“..eat snow cones...”

or more likely go back to snorting coke. I don’t know how to cut and paste or link, unfortunately, but I was forwarded a picture of Obama and Hasan Chandoo at Occidental College in 1981 where Obama’s thumb and pointer have noticeably longer nails than the rest. I read somewhere (most likely on a thread here) that cocaine users do this on purpose as since it somehow facilitates the ingestion process - I don’t know that much about the process but Obama’s fingernails are clearly grown this way for a reason. This is deliberate - not a random fashion statement!

Obama looked confident when I saw him on news last night at a camaign event..kind of scary...and Christie seems to have given him a bump in the polls.

Gergen: negativity doesn’t suit Obama.

I nearly fell out of my chair. Obama’s campaign has been 100% negative from the word go.

**Christie seems to have given him a bump in the polls.**

Which BO has squandered - FEMA is still impotent as GW discovered. The misery index in NY and NJ will be dumped on Obama as it should be.

Of course, the MSM is not reporting the chaos and lack of FEMA coordination with local and State efforts. Christie did what he thought was necessary to get BO’s cooperation and is continuing his unrelenting effort to get NJ constituents all the help they need.
