If so, I can see Obama not having the testicles to take the chance of a rescue turning out to be a slaughter and loss of multiple aircraft and assets.
Could Obama have known that this attack was bait in an attempt to lure US aircraft into the area so they could be downed with US weapons?

The idea was to make it appear as if the terrorist are so in tune with the news they can pick up on a news story and plan an attack in a matter of minutes. In other words spontaneous.
That is the reason for the initial lie.
When the spontaneous lie fell through the only thing they could do was continue the lie so people would keep repeating there is no connection between the attack and the protest..
The lie is working. People are now under the impression there is no connection between the protest and the attack.
When you get to the truth, the terrorist attack was planned then the protest was planned as a cover, that pushes the planning for the attack back months.

It is impossible to plan an attack against a particular person, on a particular day, at a particular location unless someone can guarantee they will be there on that particular day.
At a minimum, Hillary must be in the loop.
