Misery for 2.5 million STILL without power after 6 days - lawlessness, fear take over New York
Daily Mail ^ | Saturday, November 3, 2012 | Rachel Rickard Straus and Snejana Farberov

o Residents claim they are the 'forgotten victims' of Sandy

o Also say that lack of power and law enforcement means more looting and violent crime

o Those in stricken areas stockpiling weapons like kitchen knives, machetes, and bats to protect themselves

o Coney Island residents say they are forced to 'scavenge for food like animals'

o Power unlikely to be returned to Brooklyn, Queen's and Staten Island until sometime next week

Almost one week after superstorm Sandy struck the East Coast with its ferocious force, power was still out to some 2.5 million customers due to damages, down from 3.5 million on Friday, the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity Delivery & Energy Reliability claimed.

The state with the largest number of outages by far is still New Jersey with 32 percent of customers without power, it said it a report.

And as the lights begin to flicker on in Lower Manhattan, nine percent of customers across the state of New York still do not have power, followed by seven percent in Connecticut

I spoke to a relative Sunday in Nassau County, on Long Island.

She told me no matter what, she is going to vote on Tuesday. So is her daughter and grandchildren. They all live in a two-family house, and they are all voting for Romney.

Good thing none of those enlightened liberals didn’t have any of those dirty, smelly and polluting portable generators that spew out greenhouse gasses and use up nonrenewable fossil fuels, or any of those dangerous guns that sometimes just get up by themselves and kill people, and furthermore avoided that silly and self-destructive “hoarding” behavior so popular to right-wing militia wingnuts, who have, what is it, *months* of food and water stored within their domicile, as if they are expecting Armageddon and ensuing rapture at any instant. Nope, none of that for the enlightened sages. Not for the truly enlightened ones, anyway. Nope, only crazy right wing “survivalist” kooks waste their money on such stupid things.

That is something we take for granted, and why you lose it for a few days, it is wonderful to get it back!

RE :”I heard that Obama spent all of 90 minutes there, and mainly for photo-ops”

Yes he is a true leader.
If he wasn't in charge then NYC and NJ would be in mess today. Things would have been much worse. Those people don't care if they have no homes or power or heat when it drops below freezing tonight. Just knowing that BoB spent that 90 minutes there makes it all worth it to them.

What is the typical party trend for upstate NY? Even before the storm , i heard Romney was tied with 0. If they are getting pissed like this, iimagine it would add to a Romney advantage.

Pray and send your contributions to the Salvation Army! Red Cross is the equivalent of FEMA!

Amen.
The Red Cross got too big and full of themselves, during the 911 aftermath. I will never forget that...

"We don't care WHAT you specify we use your contribution for; We'll decide where the money is spent!"

You can with your own money, arrogant twit!

I have contributed exclusively to the Salvation Army since...

This will be bad for The Disaster. Anyone previously mildly inclined to vote for him may well be having second thoughts so that they will not make any special efforts to get to the polls. Those who want to vote against him won’t let a storm stop them.

This has gone on too long, and there is a lack of efficiency. If this were a Republican president, he would be skewered on CNN and all of the other rat stations just like they did with Bush.

He’s got to be the most selfish, anti-American president in history.

You can say that again. I'd add psychotic to it.

The Traitor said to tell all those New Yorkers and New Jerseyites that they don’t mind having no power. OK? OK.
