“... when the California ballot will include Prop. 30, Brown’s measure to increase income and sales taxes to fund schools and other programs, and Prop. 32, which would prohibit unions from spending payroll-deducted dues on political campaigns. “
The money goes into a general fund, and the schools will be the LAST ones to get a shot at needed funds. Gambling Casinos were supposed to provide more than adequate ‘taxes’ to extravagantly fund the EDUCATION system in every state, yet every state wants more taxes because ‘schools’ aren’t getting needed funding.
Does anyone have a simple and rational explanation for that ?
And you can bet that Proposition 32 guarantees the unions that they can deduct campaign money from individual payroll, under the guise of some ‘other’ use.
Maybe I’m wrong, but a lifetime of experience and a little common sense says I’m not.
Politicians lie and steal, simple as that.
Harry Truman earned $25,000.00 a year as President, and when he retired and went home he refused SS protection. Compare that with the money we pay for Clinton.
Richard Nixon left office broke and in disgrace, without a book deal he would have been in bad shape.
