Emanuel: Tightening of Pa. race to be expected
Washington Times ^ | November 4, 2012 | David Eldridge

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Sunday dismissed the idea that President Obama is vulnerable in Pennsylvania, where polls have tightened ahead of Tuesday's election.

The mayor, a former White House chief of staff who is one of the president's most outspoken advocates, said the Obama campaign is confident in Pennsylvania despite the narrowing lead.

"I think Pennsylvania is secure, but you don't take anything for granted," Mr. Emanuel said on CNN's "State of the Union."

The Obama campaign is sending former President Bill Clinton to campaign in Pennsylvania on Monday, but Mr. Emmanuel played down that move as well.

"That doesn't mean that it's slipping. It just means that's the natural tiding of a race," he said. "There are going to be a lot of people going back to Ohio in the (final) 96 hours, multiple times."

The last Tribune-Review/Susquehanna poll had Obama at +2. If you look at Realclearpolitics.com, you’ll see that ALL of the Pennsylvania polls show the race moving in Romney’s direction.

Why anyone would listen to what he has to say is beyond me. He can’t even run his own city effectively.

The last Tribune-Review/Susquehanna poll had Obama at +2.

Not true. Romney was +4 in that mid-October Susquehanna PA poll and it made big news here and on Drudge at the time. This new Susquehanna poll that's tied reflects the same tightening of the race and decline in Romney's numbers that we're seeing in the national polls, particularly Gallup. The previous poll:

You may be referring to an even older poll by Susquehanna. The mid-October one was done by the same polling firm, but not for the Trib.

Did you go to the Real Clear Politics presidential page for Pennsylvania? The ONLY time in 2012 that Romney was up over Obama was February. I rechecked before posting. You should go take a look.....
