With just two days until Election Day, President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney are running neck and neck nationally, according to the final national NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll before the election.

Bull CRAP
lol okay
another tie
This election is going to turn out to be R+1
...or is it Obama 47.5% & Romney 47.4% on their skewed polls and they just “rounded up”.
Either way, it’s BS!
going to be a wild tuesday night/wednesday morning
The margin of error is 2.55!
I agree. I think it’s gonna be a looong night but we’ll come out on top.
These polls are really useless.
I think this is worth a read.. baseball stat and the election.. puts Nate in his place

So, they have gone from a +16 sample, all the way down to +2?
I know. I wish I would have put Wednesday in as a vacation day, I don’t think I’ll sleep on Tuesday night.
When 0 loses they will say within margin of error.
Did Chuck Todd mention Republicans historically outperform poll average by 3?
Ras will be out with a 49-49 tie. He’s playing CYA IMO
Well... worthless.
I knew they’d play it for O. Those idiots in 2004 told us Kerry was up and Bush should begin packing his bags!
Let’s wait until the votes come in and see if its really a D+2 electorate.
Well they are now especially. 48 hrs.
Of course!!!
NBC? Why would we believe it’s D+2 after how skewed the media polls have been to date? Like I have been saying, it’s all about psyops at this point with the lib media trying to ramp up the lib base to GOTV by showing them there single vote can matter.
I can't imagine that too many pollsters are going to better their 2008 performance, since poll spending, response rates, and sample sizes are all lower than ever.
Did you say that when he had Romney up by three last week and at 50%. Ras is reliable. Clearly there was some up tick in zerO’s number due to Sandy, but that bump should be dying today and tomorrow. Especially since everyone has access to the pics and news coming from NY and NJ.
Oh lets hope its not Bush/Kerry like. Kerry got lots of votes!
Obama IS still under 50% in a heavily Democrat-biased poll.
That is your top line folks. NBC cannot push The One over the top with 48 hours to go in this election.
If I was O, I’d say it doesn’t look good!
I think it will be R+4
All for the purpose of selling ads... if it wasn’t a horse race they’d have no viewers and no viewers means no ads sold... savvy?
Well, I once saw a black comedian whose main schtick was “you gotta stick with the lie!” No matter what.
For NBC and WSJ, this is their no matter what moment. I’ve lost respect for WSJ on this one ‘final’ poll. I won’t trust anything they say again.
America is doomed. We are lost forever.
We have to keep working, up to election day and maybe even after!
They've also (Rush's theory) probably not even factored in the “Evangelical Christian” vote. I hope they lose by epic proportions on Tuesday. I can't wait to vote!
Still, Obama cannot get 50% in any major poll that is even close to being a fair poll.
I stopped subscribing to the WSJ a few years ago (subscribed for over 20 years) after one of their senior
writers Thomas Frank had nice things to say about Ayres and Dorhn-hard core leftists who tried to murder American soldiers.
No I did not but I think he and the rest are all keeping it close so the final results while not making them look like geniuses will also not destroy their credibility. Anytime a pollster makes his final call within the MOE (whether true or not) they stand little chance of being discredited.
Perhaps I’m wrong. It sure wouldn’t be the first time and won’t be the last.
As for this poll the fact they are not reporting tomorrow will give them the opportunity should they have been wrong of saying there was a last minute shift they didn’t pick up.
I’m with Michael Barone...I think it’s going to be a blowout. NBC is MSNBC... need I say more?

This is actually good. A biased poll shows that Obama only gets 48% MAX. That will be his number on election day. Romney gets the rest. Final Romney number will be 51 or 52%.
All these tie national polls make no sense to me. How can Romney be even or ahead in States such as Pennsylvania and Michigan without being up at least 5 nationally?
49-49 (which is 51-49) but more going out on an unsupported limb by polling with so much of the US still impossible to contact IMO.
There is generally a "bump" in weekend polling for the 'rats. That "bump" should be more of a hill or even a mountain right now, since the people putting in the 18 hour days to clean up from Sandy are probably more inclined to have jobs and vote Republican. The voters at home answering telephone polls now are somewhat more likely to vote Democrat.
Even with O up one in the poll, he is not at 50%. 5% uncommitted or voting for someone else does not sound real to me, perhaps 1% but not five.
I suspect it will be close...I keep saying 275 votes for Romney which will take him over the top. He should get the pop vote too, think of all those who stayed home because they did not vote for McCain only to see they aided the Kenyan win...not happening this time. Add in the Obamacare haters, the anti fag agenda folks and a very motivated military and you see a lot of movement away from His Excellency.
The national NFL game today is Giants/Pittsburg played in the meadowlands. Hopefully it will not highlight anything of value for the Kenyan. If it does not, figure Pa goes R and polls today show Michigan dead even down from in the zero’s camp.
The election will not take long to sort out either...if Romney takes Va, Pa and Michigan, all relatively eastern sates, this race could be called by midnight. If he loses Va or NC or Fl (which I dont believe will happen), it will be over sooner than that. So while it will be close, it will be decided east of the Mississippi.
I saw Barone last night on Huckabee...very interesting and thoughtful analysis.
I hope Obama gets utterly destroyed (Note to Secret Service, I'm talking about votes...ok) in Tuesday nights election. I hope it's so bad for the Liar-in-Chief, that the media will not be able to spin the loss for their Dear Reader!
I did. vacation begins after work tues night. going to watch election at my mothers in sarasota. hope to be celebrating all day wed. Then off to a 4 day camping trip.
America is doomed. We are lost forever.
Squeek, squeek....sheesh. Get a spray of sea water and some rats just jump ship sooooooooo early.
“I stopped subscribing to the WSJ a few years ago (subscribed for over 20 years)”
Ditto. After over 20 years here too. But dropped the subscription because it was insanely overpriced. I MIGHT consider trying a subscription again for a year IF it was $99 a year, and see if I bothered reading it.
I assume they can keep the price so high because almost all paid subscriptions are paid for by corporations and businesses that write it off as a business expense.
Thank you for that statistic.
How dare you deny them their misery, doom and gloom! Seriously, I think some people just won't allow themselves any optimism. I do my best to avoid people like this in my life. All they do is bring everybody else down and offer no solutions.
Dude, grow a pair.
With all the early voting, more reflecting increased Republican over Democrat responses, coupled with a disturbing trend I see as some polls doing ‘on-line’ polls, I don’t even see Obama anywhere near that high at all.
I don’t think the polling organizations have overcome the warranted distrust they’ve gained from conservatives - I would sooner fart into the mouth piece on the phone than answer one of their biased questions.
I don’t think Obama is anywhere above 45 or 46%, and it wouldn’t surprise me that all he has left are die-hard liberals and those getting some kind of government check. And, among those, sloth brings apathy and that leads to low turnout. They won’t get up off their ass and vote if there isn’t an immediate governement check involved.
LOL! Just as everyone predicted, the fraudulent polls of the preceding weeks have “tightened up” to show a dead even race so the media can save a little face when Romney wins.
Read Jeff Head’s recent post on Facebook, Free Republic home page.
At the Obama rally in Dubuque IA yesterday, an early voting location just happened to be set up conveniently right downtown where the event took place. As an urban area that has seen an unprecedented influx of transient Chicago people, and the typical expected result of increase in crime and gang activity, this was huge. This early voting thing is cr*p. There have been WAY too many campaign events scheduled around early voting stations - I don’t think it’s accidental, and likely contributed to thousands more votes for B.O.
