ST. PAUL A major independent group working to elect Republican Mitt Romney is entering Minnesotas TV market just days before Election Day with a $1.4 million ad buy, and former President Bill Clinton will make his second trip to the state in less than a week today.
Crossroads GPS said Friday it will spend $1.4 million to air an ad statewide about President Barack Obama and the national debt. The group is the nonprofit arm of the American Crossroads super PAC, tied to former President George W. Bushs political adviser Karl Rove.
Minnesota has gotten more attention in the last phase of the presidential race.
Romney running mate Paul Ryan visits Minneapolis today. Clinton is slated to visit St. Cloud.
The state last backed a Republican for president in 1972.
Not even Reagan won there....Will Romney bust this nut?
Breitbart reports a poll has Romney ahead there. The entire upper midwest may fall into the republican column.
I know a few ultra-liberals who swear that Obama will win..in fact they bet me.... they will be stunned beyond belief the morning after.
After 40 years of wandering in the wilderness and delivering our electoral votes to pro-abortion presidential candidates, we beseech the Lord to deliver us!
(From Citizens United, of the famous Citizens United Supreme Court case that got Obama so steamed.)
Reagan lost here because Mondale is a native Minnesotan.
I know I’m voting Romney on Tuesday and the majority of my neighbors are as well. I’m in the most conservative county, so I have no idea if that’s a reflection of the rest of the state. Mpls./St. Paul and Duluth will go 0bama, I’m sure, and that usually seals the deal.
If Romney wins don’t hold your breath on collecting on the bet. Like leaving the country, they are full of hot air. when it comes to delivery they are lacking.
HIS will be done. Amen.
LLS
They will be stunned by 10 pm est Tuesday night.
My inclination is to ignore the hoopla over Romney’s chances in Minnesota - however, Bill Clinton is coming to town - to St Cloud. Must be some reason why they are doubting their hold on the MN electoral votes, hummmmmmmm?
Now, if you look at a map of Minnesota, it is clear to see that St Cloud is smack in the middle of the state - far away from the Wisconsin border, and far away from the Iowa border.
Central Minnesota is pro-life country, and with the exception of St Cloud (where there are a ton of college/university folks) this is patriotic, Christian (Catholics, Evangelicals, and some conservative Lutherans), and strongly GOP for the past 20-30 years.
I wonder why the Domocrats are bothering to send Bill Clinton to St Cloud???
I live in this City and our paper says this is Clinton’s last stop of the day after starting in New Hampshire and moving on to North Carolina. Doors at the college open at 6:45 p.m. Knowing how notoriously late Clinton always is, I would be surprised if he shows up here before midnight. I suppose some college kids might be hanging around but will be watching the paper tomorrow to see what the attendance was.
