West Allis - Tim Johnson and his wife were looking at a Colt 9mm and an AK47 at The Shooters Shop. When Johnson held and aimed the AK47, he was surprised at how light the high-powered weapon felt.
"Now this feels good," he told a store employee before finally handing the gun to his wife. She looked through the scope and stood in a shooter's stance before handing the gun back to Johnson.
Johnson, 30, already owns a 9mm Ruger, but he said the recent spa shooting in Brookfield and the increase in violent crimes - especially in his neighborhood - have forced him to go gun shopping.
"I'm not worried about responsible gun owners; it's the irresponsible ones that you need to worry about. I just want to keep my family protected and safe," Johnson said.
Nov. 1 marked the anniversary of Wisconsin's concealed-carry law. Since the law went into effect, handgun sales in the state have been red hot. The Wisconsin Department of Justice already has issued more than 151,000 concealed-carry permits, and handgun sales are up 90% since 2010.

Interesting. But, for those who are not familiar with the AK-47, it’s a semi-auto meaning the trigger must be pulled each time it’s fired. Secondly, the AK-47 round is not particularity powerful. The ballistics is similar to the 30-30 Winchester round, fairly slow and drops about 6” at 100 yards. But, it is very reliable and the military version can lay down a lot of rounds when on full auto - which by the way, is extremely difficult to buy here in the U.S., requires a class II FFL. Anyway, so much for that...
Yup. It’s gonna be real interesting in America if all those people threatening to riot when Obama loses actually try something. I’ve got enough ammo to handle the first 500 or so that try to come through the door, hope my neighbors do too.
I can handle the first 1,500. If they’re still interested after that, they’ve earned it!
Anyway, the mention of the AK in the article was just to cause liberals to wet their panties.
I did an inventory when I came home on R&R and was pleasantly surprised to find that I have much more than I thought.

"Lucky?" Good grief, the other 48 states that enacted CCW must have been "lucky" as well. What a lame excuse to explain why, once again, they were wrong. Last year, too many J-S readers fell for the Kabuki theater these liberals put on and got upset for no reason. All they had to do was look at the others states' experiences since 1987. Nada, nil, zip, yet the Wild Wild West scenario is echoed even unto today by these professional hand-wringers.
But, hey, it reinforces their creds with the self-appointed A-List crowd.

Ok, could be. I had an FFL about 20 years ago and let it expire because regulations became too restrictive and burdensome. I’ll take your word for what you say as I’ve forgotten a lot and am too lazy to research :)
