PRUDEN: All the signs say it’s Romney

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Four days out, it looks like Mitt Romney.

October has come and gone with no surprise, with just a slow, plodding accumulation of signs and portents suggesting that “the One” who has come will soon be gone.

The polls are tight, and the numbers are steady, but it begins to feel like 1980 again, when a tight race between President Carter and Ronald Reagan broke open over the last weekend. His own pollsters went to Mr. Jimmy and Miss Rosalynn on Monday morning to tell them that “the numbers just aren’t there.”

If President Obama has taken such a meeting, there’s no hint of it. Both the Obama and Romney camps naturally predict victory, but the president’s men are a little more emphatic than their numbers warrant, which suggests they may be working hard to keep hope alive.

Mr. Obama will close his campaign Monday where it all started, with a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, after stops in Wisconsin and Ohio. The attention he’s paying to states he had locked up a fortnight ago tells a lot about how the campaign ends. Iowa can contribute just six votes to what the president expected would be a landslide.

The president has been to Iowa 11 times this year; Mr. Romney will make his 14th visit with a rally in Dubuque on Saturday. He will close on Monday in New Hampshire, fighting for four electoral votes. It may be a poetic way to end a long and contentious marathon, but sentiment has nothing to do with it. Neither man would be struggling in the dying hours of the campaign for nickels and dimes if the race were a settled issue.

They’re spending time and resources defending blue states like Pennsylvania. Obama’s attacking the Tea Party indicating he is trying to turn his base out in order to avoid a down ticket disaster. Everyone knows the polls showing Obama competitive are based on a huge Democrat turn out that isn’t going to materialize.

Obama is done.

My thought is that if Obama isn't done, the country is. These elections are so stressful because the nation hangs in the balance. The choice shouldn't be so difficult. Obama is an absolute joke of a human being, much less a president. I pray, and I hope. God have mercy on our cause.

Very true, the turnout for Dems will be less than expected.

We have always known that the Dem’s cheat.. DUH .. Here is the TELL, which states have both of these guys visited in the last month?

Not a single candidate has visited a RED state in eons! Yet, Zero has had to concentrate money and time in the swing states, and his SAFE states as well.. PA, MI, CO, WI, and now MN.. All were thought to be safe..

If he thought he had it a done deal, he would be taking a Calm, Confident, Victory Lap, reassuring the undecided.. He is out there screaming REVENGE to fire up his dwindling BASE!

I don’t know, stories all over FR about voting machines cheating while the GOP sends letters about it.

My measure of things is thus: imagine if George Buh was running for reelection and suddenly Texas became competitive and too close to call, how would the media/leftwingers spin it??! That’s right: game over! Go home kids. Therefore, today w/ Pennsylvania’s numbers, I say, ‘Right back at you, media hacks, go home, game over; your pathological revenge-monger is bu-bye’!

I hear ya, but they can't get away with things when we're looking right at them. It's up to all of us to closely watch what these voting machines do when we vote, and to make a noise if we see a 'malfunction'.

When the Libtard polls say its too close to call you can believe its going to be Romney in a landslide. Its all over except the slow walkin and sad singin.
