STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- More than five million bottles of water will be arriving this weekend and early next week in New York and New Jersey communities hard hit by Hurricane Sandy. Approximately 100 trucks will be converging on the region from Nestle Waters North America (NWNA) plants in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas and Maine, where employees are working tirelessly to meet the acute needs of storm victims. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New York Office of Emergency Management made the request for bottled water to meet immediate need in the region....

Nestle Waters North America is also donating 200,000 bottles of Poland Spring water that had been designated for the NYC Marathon. With that event now cancelled, all of that bottled water is being turned over to relief agencies.

This brings total bottled water donations by NWNA to more than 775,000 bottles, most of which have by distributed through disaster relief partners AmeriCares and The American Red Cross.

Free enterprise works far better than a proven failure like FEMA.

Yeppers. And, of course, the NG can’t be used in NYC. Bloomie thinks they’re too scarey.

Reports indicate that the water is chocolate flavored.

....and they made fun of Mitt because Mitt loaded relief supplies into bus.

Too bad the Red Cross has a bucket of money, and all the stores on Staten Island are closed

Glad to see business helping out in this disaster.

Me too, but they always do, and the left will be back to vilifying them in a week or two.

I wonder how the folks in NJ and NY feel about those evil oil companies right about now?

Never mind, they're too ignorant to even make the connection.

Sort of a misleading title, IMHO. Nestle is DONATING 2000,000 bottles, and SELLING 5,4000,000 bottles. The 300K were for the Marathon runners, and were a donation already made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad they are gonna get water.... but I hate to see the bill!

Just like after Katrina, I can't help but wonder how many of those whining for drinking water have considered building a fire using debris for fuel -- and boiling their own water.

Even in NYC, there are untold thousands of toilet flush tanks -- each of which should contain a couple of gallons of good water -- perfectly good after it is boiled. And, with all that rain there should be boilable water standing in many places...

Oh, well, you can't expect people who believe milk grows in jugs, beef lives in styrofoam packages, and money comes from mailboxes to actually think for themselves -- much less DO anything for themselves -- and certainly not for their neighbors... :-(

Only reason Bloomberg won’t let NG in is because he doesn’t want them messing up photos of NY that wind up in history books. FUMB

Private business to the rescue, not Big Gov't.

Big Gov't produces NOTHING.

But the United Nations doesn’t like Nestle because they provide formula for new mothers that prefer not to breast feed.

The Leftists can squak lies all they want, but the people stuck in this disaster will remember that corporations came to their aid when FEMA ran out of water. It’s merciful and people will not forget that act of kindness w/o regard to profit.

That is why liberals have control over the media voice, yet get little mileage in long run. People live. They know. Sooner or later...
