so.... no water to drink because of your price controls, no food for same reason, no help from FEMA because Obama rode off in Air Force One to raise more money for himself at $25,000 a plate campaign dinners...Bloomberg wanted to have a big marathon footrace run through the striken streets of NYC so he could fill up the hotels with higher-paying foreign visitors (while evicting stranded residents from their rooms).... and now Bloomberg lets looters, burglars, robbers, bashers, and rapists run wild because he doesn’t want the help from New York’s national guard units .... and all the while Bloomberg is enforcing his 16 ounce limit on any soda pop you want to buy for yourself. That’s the priority, now that footraces have finally been postponed, stop evil people from consuming those 20 ounce sodapops!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee (and pray) for New York the city that used to Know How.

With the Guard, NYPD might lose hundreds of millions in unionized government tax paid overtime.

He likely made a deal with the government union police bosses.

Maybe it was because one of the guardsmen had a 20oz Coke.

Meanwhile, residents are having to arm themselves with whatever they can find to fend off looters:

Hardened New Yorkers are ready to battle lowlife criminals to protect their homes and stores in storm-ravaged areas plagued by looting and break-ins.

From your link:

In Coney Island, several residents were loading up their guns, sharpening their machetes and brandishing other deadly weapons.

Hmmm

The overtime associated with Sandy would be reimbursed by FEMA. Bloomberg is just a huge dick who hates the military.

Wow. Doomberg seems to be hysterical when it comes to gun possession.

But I bet he doesn’t mind to have his armed body guard around. Seems that he values his life so much more than those of the ignorant New Yorkers who voted for him.

His own private army.

Bingo.

"The NYPD is the only people we want on the street with guns."

Translation: "The only people *WE* want on the street with guns, are people who are under my direct command and control, who answer to me an no one else. Period. And when I say "we" I mean the Royal We, which means me, personally, as your King."

With notable exceptions like Jimmy Cirillo (whom I had the pleasure of meeting and from whom I’ve taken a class), you’re right.

Cirillo had tried to do something about this in the NYPD - by getting cops interested in target shooting and shooting for more than mere qualification. To little avail, most NYPD cops are just public employees, union corruption and all.

Jimmy and his sidekick Al could run rings around most people on a handgun range - including the LAPD SWAT and other cops who were in the class I was taking.

It’s quite frankly amazing and alarming how incompetent most law enforcement agencies are about their firearms training.

That supposedly sophisticated New York City residents have voted Nanny Bloomberg into the mayor's office three times pretty much undercuts whatever claim that city's residents may have had to intelligence. They wanted lefty Bloomberg - they have him, to paraphrase H.L. Mencken, 'good and hard'.

I hope those unfortunate New Yorkers affected by the aftermath of 'Sandy' sleep well tonight knowing that their idiot mayor refused National Guard troops for protection from looters.
