Department of Defense setting up free, emergency gas stations in NYC metro area

Gov. Cuomo says the Department of Defense will set up emergency mobile fuel stations at five locations around the New York City metro area.

Free gasoline will be distributed, with a 10-gallon per-person limit, Cuomo announced at a briefing today.

Living in Florida the past twenty years I don’t recall ever getting free gasoline after a hurricane.

FEMA FEDERAL....is simply a paper pushing money tree. In an emergency, they hire experts...my friend is one...a chemist by trade....$300 per hour plus expenses. He laughs...

I really reacted to News 12 New Jersey’s prediction (24 hours before it hit) that 80% of NJ would lose power; went shopping at a 24-hour Shop-Rite and gassed both cars. As far as I can tell, more people should have been told to evacuate (I’m not whining - we’re OK), but I can’t imagne where they would have put so many people from the coasts of NY, NJ, and CT (remember that many people who left New Orleans basically never went back; they are spread across several states to this day).
