Union halting power repair crews is top Democratic donor
Paul Bedard - Washington Secrets
November 2, 2012 | 12:36 pm

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, cited in news reports for halting nonunion repair crews from helping to restore power in superstorm Sandy's New Jersey-New York path, is one of nation's top union donors to Democrats, a group President Obama last year praised in a visit to an IBEW training Center.

The Center for Responsive Politics, a public political spending watchdog, said IBEW has the nation's fifth highest spending political action committee, doling out nearly $2.3 million, 97 percent of which went to Democrats. According to the group, IBEW during this election cycle has given $2,928,973 to Democratic House and Senate candidates, and just $51,600 to Republicans. They have also helped raise money for Obama.

I’m in the IBEW-just last week received the monthly newsletter with an Obama sticker affixed to the cover. Getting out of the union is almost out of the question; hopefully reform can be done from the inside.

One of supervisors for the welding company I was doing x rays for came over and asked me where my harness was for his JSA while I was unloading my stuff. I looked up and saw the Obama-Biden sticker on his hard hat and just shook my head and pointed to the harness hanging up in the truck. After I finished unloading and his welders took a break, he said to me, rather sheepishly, that he was “encouraged” to put it on. I believed him, he seemed embarrassed and even helped us rope off..

If that guy was in the military and was held captive by enemies and tortured, he wouldn’t put that sticker on to save his life, but since he’s in the UNION and UNION THUGS “suggest” he put it on, he did. Sad.

If every union member exercised their becks right it would be over pretty quickly. unionrefund.org. I live in a union slavery state... I was preparing to relocate when they threatened to take over. They did get a foot in the door, with part of our staff. So getting this information out is key. Perhaps the coupon craze would be a good format. Send the information for the union refund in a coupon format. LOL. I had never heard of this union court finding before, but I am still new to the union slavery territories.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Work goes to the collectives of the red-tape-brigade.

For many who are in a union, your contract says that you don’t have to join, but the dues are mandated. You don’t have a choice.

"Hope springs eternal...." Nice sentiment, but it seems unlikely.

Let the Unions handle it all. Maybe when the power is up long after New Years the people of the NE will rethink how much the Unions enrich their lives.

Ahh, enjoy the dark, wet, and cold all you Jersey Dems, compliments of the Democrat Party and their union flunkies.

Remember this when you vote.

Wake the F*** up and realize who the enemy is and remove them from office.

Or not...

A union member threatened to shoot my mother during a union strike in the 70”s. I have no compassion for unions. If my power was delayed because of unions you do not want to know what would happen.

I was also threatened during a wildcat strike in the late 70’s. Working as a grocery checker, was sent to a store under attack by an unauthorized wildcat strike.

Got permission to go home & get my dog, park my car in front of the window where I could see it & leave all the windows down & water for dog inside.

Then the union slick tried to come to all the checkstands I ask for personal information from us.

I told him my name was Peter Pan & I lived in The Land of Nod. I refused to give him any more info. I also told him off in front of the other checkers. Told him to leave us alone—he always drew his paycheck—no matter if strikes were happening or not....

They left me alone for the remaining 4 days of that strike.

my husband was union for at least 17 yrs with the Steelworkers...and I've been in a union for over 30.....

my union claims to keep its political arm separate...but if they are using my "union" name as an endorsement for their rat activities then its not separate....

and you know they always go rat...

A second term for 0bama will insure that many more union workers will have him to thank for losing their jobs.
