MSNBC president Phil Griffin apologized Thursday after host Chris Matthews called Charles and David Koch “pigs” in a segment with Rep. Ed Markey Wednesday.
Griffin apologized for Matthews’ “crass language” to Mark Holden, general counsel for Koch Industries, Inc., according to Newsbusters. Griffin said that Matthews would not be required to apologize to the Kochs.
In the exchange Wednesday, Matthews called the Kochs “pigs,” and said he is in the “business of name calling,” after Princeton professor Michael Oppenheimer declined to join Matthews:
MARKEY: The Koch brothers want Romney, and Romney has promised, to roll back those fuel economy incentives. It endangers the planet. And it’s going to endanger young men and women who have to go to the Middle East to import the oil from there rather than backing it (ph).
MATTHEWS: Well, Professor Oppenheimer, back in the ‘60s, we called such people pigs. Pigs. No, really, they don’t care about the planet, they don’t care about the destruction of war. All they want is what they got, their stuff. And they want more of it. Is that what we’re facing here, just greed? I’m not talking about the guy working in the coalmine. That’s hard work. I’m talking about people who won’t listen to you, won’t listen to science because they want more stuff.

When I read about how Pissy Chrissie was thrown to his death from the top of the MSNBC hq, I’ll accept the sincerity of that apology.

I was just thinking earlier today, when Romney wins, it’ll be a sight to see the media melt down. Kind of like when the country threw a tantrum ala Dan Rather.
I don’t understand why any conservatives ever watch that guy for one second. He is a clown and should not be taken seriously. I watched his show briefly about 10 years ago. Watching him is a form of self abuse.

Now that’s funny! Prior to 2001, before my cable provider carried FOX News, MSNBC seemed preferable to CNN, so I was reduced to watching that crazy b@$tard. While he was clearly a Leftie, he sorta tried to keep it between the curbs back then.

This is what annoys me about Chrissie. To my knowledge, he doesn't possess a hard science degree (I have two) and he says that we don't "listen to science" b/c we don't agree with him.
I'd love the opportunity one day to ask him what his credentials are for passing a dismissive judgment on people like me.
I don’t watch him, my time is more valuable. But, via the internet, we read what the left say and mock them. It’s a fun sport.
The apology means nothing as Mathews Employer MSNBC has not fired him yet.
Mathews has done this same stunt far to often and he’s has been given a free pass.
That’s one apology I would Not accept.
If Chrissy were more confident of an Obama win, he would be more relaxed. This level of anger indicates that he's feeling Obama will lose.

Better still, “off himself” on national TV. And don’t you just love the fact that the execs did the apologizing and let Matthews off the hook, so he doesn’t have to be a man. Of course, he isn’t!
Don't know, but whatever they are, I'm going to DVR him so I can savor every moment of the meltdown.
Matthews will be screaming like a stuck pig next Tuesday...
