The False Notion of "If It's Not Close, They Cannot Steal"

Posted on 11/02/2012 10:15:10 AM PDT by SarahPalin2012

Stop repeating this nonsense. The dumb way to do it would be to stuff ballot boxes or find a bag full of extra votes. But the easiest way would be to hack machines. Then, it doesn't matter if the state is Oklahoma. All one does is change the first number (as follos):

If Total Republican vote in machine is 778,392 and Democrat vote is 321,292 (Not close, right?)

Just change the first numbe 7 for Republicans to a 5, and change the 3 in the Democratic vote to a 6. So then: Republicans 578,392 Democrats 621,292.

Also, if they need more, just add an extra "1" in front of the Democratic vote: It becomes 1,321,292. You can literally find millions of votes this way. So throw out that dumb saying about "If it's not close" -- they can manufacture millions of votes very easily.

This is literally the dumbest post I've ever read.

Absolutely takes the cake for imbecility.

Um...the quote isn’t meant to be taken literally. It’s a wry way of saying “go vote”.

I don't think some people understand voter rolls, and caucus or district reporting.

Really? Mr. Mensa, And 135 year olds voting in Florida is smart? Does the math not add up? This is a completely broken system. Trusting in it is what is imbecilic.

Life isn't simpler and neither is voting. Those state totals reflect the sum of every county, city and precinct and there are a lot of people who look very closely which precincts are going which way. You'd need to go in adjust numbers accordingly for every precinct total to get state totals that skew in the way you are suggesting. Keep in mind that nationwide most counties have their own computers and report their totals to their state with different machines.

Yes, cheating can be accomplished electronically, but certainly not the way you have described.

Technically true, of course. There's exit polling in the picture as well, though. If one machine or group of them produces an odd exit result, the machines and the Internet trails before (or after) the vote can be examined for hacking by geek investigators. That will tend to implicate individuals and organizations that would get in trouble.

I think the rule for election-stealing hasn't changed that much since the paper-ballot or lever days: Steal relatively small numbers of votes not outside the margin of exit-polling error, but preferably on a large number of machines.

Yeah, but I think he's vocalizing a concern we all have.

I have no clue what controls are in place at my local voting precinct. I have this vague notion that both sides have poll watchers at each location and that there exists somewhere some procedures to ensure that the vote is fair and not modified. And presumably those procedures include making sure that the machines software has been tested by both sides and secured. But I don't know that for sure.

Here is an evaluation of each state's voting process. And while it identifies many concerns, I don't think it even covers what I stated above.

I agree , I have a feeling cheating is rampant, I witnessed it firsthand on a major scale in 2008 early voting, they were handing out ballots like trick or treat candy to people who got in line multiple times

made me realize that whoever is in the county recorders office when the doors close has 100% control of the final numbers , the buck stops there

electronic machines are completly out of control

by golly you are right!!

What is alarming is that Sarah just gave the libs a whole new way to cheat! Sarah, can we delete this VANITY thread before the DEMS read it?!!!

I think I will call my bank and have them add a few ‘1’s to the beginning of the balance.

This seems like a potential path for the Dems to take. Why not? As I've said on several posts, Obama doesn't need to cheat in any "clever" or "undetectable" way. He can cheat in a blatant, obvious, crude way. Just get the right numbers and declare himself king.

What would the GOP do about it? I see two options:

1) Roll over and let Obama have 4 more years.
2) Instigate a hot civil war.

I say Obama hates this country. I say Obama wants to tear this country apart and destroy it. Of the two options above, Obama may prefer one over the other, but I say either option would be fine with him.

Winning through cheating, in a crude and obvious manner, is not necessarily a "bad" option for the Dems.

Indeed. Small nibbles do not get noticed. A Big bite does. Embezzling tends to happen within the margin of error. Remember the old John Cash song about the guy who takes Caddy parts out of the factory in his lunch box and eventually has enough to build his asymetrical Car?

Trying? Holy crap.

"Try not. Do or do not. There is no 'try'.

If there were any people in authority with integrity who saw this bug or defect, they'd have had all these POS machines ripped out and replaced with simple paper ballots. Enough is enough.

Is there NO ONE with balls any more who is not afraid of inconveniencing people for the sake of pure, unadulterated, uncorrupted balloting?

Who gives a fat rat's arse if the tallying takes a week? It will anyway this time around. Better off getting it right than just finished as soon as possible. This stuff matters!

Dammit, I just get so p!$$ed sometimes at the utter lack of quality in people who should know better.

What would Patton do?

such large changes are easily caught and would be foolish on the part of either party. Its the small ones here and there that make a difference in swing states that we should be most wary of and vigilant for.
