Florida Democrats are asking Gov. Rick Scott to extend early voting an extra day, blaming the GOP-backed changes to the election law that shrank the number of early voting days for long lines at the polls.

Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith said Scott should take the lead from his predecessor Charlie Crist who extended early voting four years ago in response to long lines around the state and election machine problems in certain counties.

Maybe they want to extend early voting to the week after the election.

Or until Obama has the lead, whichever comes first.

Answer: No way.

The law is what it is. Tell your voters to show up on Election Day.

How the hell did people manage to do this in the old days?

You get a whole week to show up and you still need more time?

If Michigan had early voting, I would still show up on the actual election day only.

Typical RAT strategy..setting the stage for mass fraud or crying to the DOJ about voter disenfranchisement. or both!!
& if Scott doesn’t extend, he’s racist!

Hopefully Scott holds strong & tells them hell no!

the problem is the cheaters from NJ, NY, etc who were planning on voting multiple times are having logistical issues getting to Florida.

I hadn't thought of that but definitely true.

ALL this early voting should be stopped....period....

Absentee only of necessity!!

If the lines are too long on election day....ADD new polling places....double them, triple them....whatever it takes. It should have been done already.

This is all about math....and games....AND cheating.....

In the old days: I don't remember having these Early Voting days at all. Absentee ballots and voting on Election DAY is all we had.

We got to the POLLS, may have waited in line, but so what? We did it and found it great fun to do so.

I think now for the 2016 election: Early voting starts ON NOV 7th, 2012/sarc. That early enough for them? I'll bet someone will complain about all the long lines even then.

NO WAY should these be extended in Florida or anywhere else, enough is enough.

The GOP has spent the last week or so happily telling the democrats how many votes they need.

There are two polling places in my vast metropolis of 150 people and they’re less than 100 yards apart.

Granted they’re for the whole township but the total population is under 2000 people with less than half of those being voters.

The lines will be long on election day. There is no reason to change the rules in the middle of the game. Not only No, but Hell No.

Long lines are ok. It's hard to vote 5 or 6 times if you have to wait 2 hours each time. Plus having to carry all those changes of clothing and spare ID’s. It's all good.
