I am not sure the ambassador was betrayed. He may have been knee deep in the gun runner. It seems this attack is similar to a drug deal gone bad. The elements in Libya were convinced Obama was going to turn on them as the gun operation was being exposed.
Last thing Obama wanted was the Military there to capture prisoners and expose the operation (which in my opinion circumvented the CIA and other intell agencies and went straight to the White House) .. mob bosses don't call the cops when the deal goes bad... More to come for sure....
My guess is that it was all a setup to capture the weapons under the cover of the attack. I think it worked. FWIU the manpads, etc. were being collected by CIA ops and were stockpiled in warehouses. The local jihadis had inside info and knew where the weapons were stored and security was being run a jihadi, so they just called a riot on 9/11 (how hard would that be?) and waited after Stevens met with the Turk (who could have coordinated the whole thing). Whether they had planned to kidnap Stevens or not, they went in and got the weapons and can now sell them to the Syrians.

Cuz it seems like it would be an awful coincidence that this was happening right under the CIAs nose in Benghazi, not to mention stupid, even by The Traitors standard, to try and pull off movement of tens of thousands of weapons within a mile of the CIA annex.
