My take: Axelrod, Plouffe, and Jarrett decided he'd get more votes looking Presidential and in charge for a week (even though he'd be doing very little) compared with demagoging small crowds on the stump. He'd also get more free TV coverage.

It's all calculated. He could have campaigned every day and convened meetings on AF1 about disaster relief, and would have if his advisors thought it better. They are probably hoping that Romney, out of respect for the victims, would call off his campaigning while the President was busy, so as not to grab an unseemly advantage.

Wouldn't that be like a reverse McCain move? In the last election, McCain suspended his campaign to go to DC while the economy was in crisis, but Obama kept right on hammering away.

Weird how politico can keep putting out articles about how oama is on tiop of this storm and yet can;t get the basics abotu a terrorist attack on 9-11 or even why and how guns went to Mexican drug lords which in turn killed one of our border agents.

I mean it;s only been over a year for one and weeks on another but hey I suppose this storm which you media hyped up as Katrina and Andrew rolled into one is being used as cover for oabma and yoruselves and then state how oabma was great on this when in fact he hasn;t done a damn thing.
