Zimmerman murder case: Judge denies (prosecution) request for gag order (against the defense)

A Florida judge has denied a prosecutor’s request for a gag order to prevent George Zimmerman’s attorney from posting documents and other information online.

In her two-page order Monday, Circuit Court Judge Debra Nelson wrote that she found no "overriding pattern of prejudicial commentary" and noted that a dozen media companies that had opposed the order were right when they argued that the state had failed to demonstrate prejudice.

Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda had argued that Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, has used a website set up to assist Zimmerman and social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to publicly discuss the case, potentially tainting jurors.

O’Mara denied the prosecutor's claims, saying Zimmerman has faced a “tidal wave” of inaccurate information.

It was the second time de la Rionda had requested a gag order in the case.

Zimmerman's father is white and his mother is Peruvian; Martin was black.

It's racist to allow that Cracker to post the truth about Saint Skittles on his own website in order to counter a tidal wave of inaccurate information!

Hey, isn’t the guy in the picture in the body of the article the same guy who made the anti-Moslem film which led to the “riots” in Benghazi? Thought I recognized his face.

Now the guy speaking in the Comments picture looks familiar. Seems I recall him to be a con artist, smear artist, convicted of libel huckster, who didn’t account for the money raised for the fraudulent legal defense of Tawana Brawley (faked rape by white men).

Why isn’t he in jail?

“Zimmerman has faced a “tidal wave” of inaccurate information.”

I love that little jewell in the article. Assuming the judge is actually being open minded and even tempered, there is going to be a whole lot of splaining to do at the end of the “case dismissed” at the conclusion of this travesty.

I wonder if the Special Prosecutor Angela Corey will learn the lesson Prosecutor Mike Nifong learned in the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case — bad things can happen to your career when you try to put innocent people in prison. Specifically: loss of your job, loss of your pension, disbarment, prison, fines, and bankruptcy.

Since the prosecution placed the case in the court of public opinion, the defense should be able to state their case in the same venue.

But, but, but Trayvon could have been Obozo’s son! Have some respect for the opportunist in the WH! /s

It won’t be dismissed if BO has anything to say about it.

Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda is right. How dare Zimmerman be allowed to fight all the slanderous allegations, selectively edited 'news', and doctored photos that the likes of NBC aired from day one.

So what if the MSM pronounced him guilty just to play the pc game - and stir up a little trouble to boot. Doesn't Zimmerman know he's just supposed to roll over and take it! So what if Wanted Dead or Alive posters and Bounties were issued by radical Blacks. Zimmerman should just admit guilt and go off to prison like a man.

Or better yet (to some) tell the Judge he deserves the Death Penalty for killing the poor little innocent, A student and pacifist, Trayvon Martin. 'Tray' was an 'aspiring Rap Artist' dam it. But now thanks to the gun toting, trigger happy, racist Zimmerman, the world will be denied the genius insight of Trayvon's thoughts and music. Zimmerman should pay the ultimate price for that.

If I need a Sarc tag, I'll kill you.

This case is already before the jury -- the jury of public opinion and the prosecution doesn't want the jury to hear the facts of the case that are all against them. This Motion for a gag order was pure desperation showing the leftist mindset of the prosecutor's office.

Like Martin that night they are permitted to attack their victims with suckerpunches, fists, weapons, chokeholds, MMA tactics, accusations, affidavits, press releases, any and all weapons at their disposal to gag their victim and keep him from breathing, opening his mouth, crying out for help or speaking.

But the minute their victim begins to gasp for air, and open their mouths and speak, and defend himself, and fight back, and get his story out there -- oh that is illegal, the rules don't allow it, and they cry foul.

What the media forgot to follow up on is whether or not Crump had met the judge's order to turn over to the defense a clear copy of his infamous DeeDee interview that started it all and the names of all in on that interview which will include Matt Gutman for sure.

The media should be camped outside Crump's office asking if he complied with the order because this case will now focus on him and his upcoming deposition and how he lied and got the DeeDees [whoever they are] to lie for him and why he and his mouth are still allowed to run free and not behind bars for obstruction and subourning perjury in this case.

The only question that is up for grabs is how many times Crump will plead the 5th in his upcoming deposition or say I can't recall in the light of all those news articles and audiofiles quoting him verbatim. We can't wait --

I'm sure he's lawyered up by now and we may not hear a peep from him or his other schemers -- for now.

I can think of one possible reason this fiasco is dragging out so long...Florida officials are hoping for a new president and a new head of the Department of Justice.

It will eliminate federal interference in this case.
