BREAKING.. ROMNEY v OBAMA v MEDIA = Advantage, SANDY

Hold muh beer Bertha.. It's a whole new Game!

Lets go to the STATS, where are we today? TOSSUP!

Anyone that wants to predict this election outcome is starting with a new page, and there is nothing on it..

STOP THE PRESSES, TURN OFF THE TV, THROW AWAY THE POLLS, and DELETE everything! This is day one of the 2012 election.. Anyone that wants to tell you anything different is pulling you leg..

As it happens, at the present time in this this election cycle, with all things being equal, because it really is, there are no stats that we have on the books that we can turn to that reflects the new facts that we are facing today..

The Romney surge.. STOP! The President's ground game.. STOP! Benghazigate.. STOP! The polls.. STOP! DELTE, DELETE, DELETE..

When everyone turns on their TV, computer, radio, newspaper front page, this morning it's all HURRICANE SANDY!! This means the newscycles are, and will be for the foreseeable future, all about this HISTORIC, CATASTROPHIC, MONUMENTAL, and some are suggesting BIBLICAL, hurricane named SANDY..

THINK KATRINA!

So, where are we with these new dynamics? The MEDIA, and the facts as they roll out, are going to dominate the new reality, however, if anyone has the WIND at their back, it's the President.. If we had to start somewhere, remember Hurricane Katrina, only without BUSH.. The big difference this time is the MEDIA, and what is their priority? ADVANTAGE = OBAMA..

Visuals are everything, and if history serves us, wherever you point that camera, and what the commentator says the story is, Is the story!

Hurricane Sandy, is not the only thing that will be spinning during the coverage in the next few days, so will the PR around the President..

So where are we today? The future is in the eye of the beholder, and the true impact of this unfolding tragedy! For Romney, it's how he reacts, which means he will be JUDGED by what he doesn't do wrong. For OBAMA, it's how much he cares.. Who can predict what will happen, well for the foreseeable future, no one knows for sure..

The real tragedy is about to unfold, and the havoc it will unleash on our fellow citizens.. Our attention will be riveted on the outcome of the storm, and our prayers will be with those that feel the brunt of it's fury.. Where are we today, only HEAVEN KNOWS!

Remember, this storm MUST be very dangerous and terrible, so when it blows through and no one is really hurt, THE ONE can claim he responded and coordinated the event.

Personally it looks like a lot of rain. I don’t see this as being an Andrew or Katrina. (Could be wrong but I’ve seen dozens of this things)

I pray for the people in the way of this storm, but I also fear that Obama is going to try to use this as an excuse to attempt to call off or delay the election.

Tragedy? “Sandy” is a storm system. We have storms every year, and we've had many, many days of warnings about this one. I grew up on the southeastern coast, and hurricanes are just a fact of life. Has this country become so brain-dead and dependent that we can't seek shelter from a storm and help ourselves and our neighbors?

It’s a 2 day Nor’ Easter. The hype by the NOAA fed media is to take attention away from the failure of this administration in all other areas.

His heartfelt hand wringing is not going to change any votes that matter because the election, despite the media manipulated polls to the contrary, is not close.

It is interesting how the severity of a storm is measured by its proximity to the Washington, D.C. to NYC corridor.

My 14 yr old commented on how the news resembles the Hunger Games, “Its all about how things affect the capital.”

Right on. “Sandy” came along just in time to deflect attention from Benghazi, a real national shame.

Disagree. The Katrina meme too weeks to develop and was helped by the fact Mayor Nagin trapped 100K of his citizens inside a sports arena. Also, Katrina’s disaster was not the storm itself but the later breaking of the levees which caused the massive flooding.

Ultimately, Katrina wasn’t THE issue that hurt Bush and the GOP but rather a combination of that, Iraq, and the botching of Soc Sec reform/privatization.

Today, people are likely set on their vote unless Romney does or says something completely inappropriate (unlikely. He’s campaigning like a disciplined SEAL right now).

Obama walks a tight line too b/c he has to be President of the United States, not President of the Democratic Party. He hasn’t played the former role with ease lately.

I live in the Houston area, we have hurricanes every year, maybe it's me, but it's been a long time since I've heard words like, HISTORIC, CATASTROPHIC, MONUMENTAL, and some are suggesting BIBLICAL!

We were hit by Ike a couple of years ago, and our local media used one or two of those descriptions, but not all at once.. HA! Well lets be honest, we aren't as important as Washington, D.C. or the NYC corridor.

We're just taxpayers, and Patriots who cling to our guns and bibles.. Sheeeze

I can tell that you, like most FReepers pay attention to the news and politics, but we are a very small percentage of the electorate..

I have the advantage of having lots of twentysometins, and old fools like me, around me every day, and they, for the most part are wonderful people, but clueless about Facts!

Every day, I cook for my grandkids, and all of their friends, as well as my older neighbors, and I shy away from confrontation for the most part (SMIRK) but it would floor you in what they think and believe.. YIKES!

Heh. Yup. I never leave DailyGros and DummieUnderground or the politics section on BuzzScreed without my jaw on the ground. It’s a form of masochism, but I need to know what these guys are thinking. (I use the work “thinking” lightly).
