Col. Ken ALLARD: Obama knew about the attack, ignored three requests for help

The Benghazi debacle may yet make Mitt Romney president.

Barely 10 days before the election, the persistent whiff of scandal surrounding Barack Obama exploded into the banner headlines of a cover-up – at least among certain press outlets. Everything changed Friday afternoon with the stunning revelations by Fox News that CIA operatives defending the embattled consulate in Benghazi, Libya, called three times for emergency assistance while the attack was in progress. Each time, they were shamefully turned down. One of those defenders, Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, was apparently able to use a laser designator to pin-point the location of the mortar that eventually killed him. It would have been an easy shot for American pilots had any been ordered to respond. Another new and critical detail: An American drone was overhead transmitting live video of the battle scene below.

Only days before, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton airily dismissed new revelations of incriminating emails, also uncovered by Fox. Yet those messages provided startling proof of how Washington decision-makers – from the Pentagon to the White House Situation Room – must have known within minutes or hours that the incident in Benghazi was 9/11.2, the second successful al Qaeda attack on American soil. They also would have known that this well-coordinated assault killed the American ambassador to Libya, as well as three other Americans who fought valiantly to save him.

With all this information – from frantic messages sent by operators on the ground to highly detailed overhead battle-scene video – who invented the asinine idea that the attack was collateral damage from a flash-mob reacting to a provocative video? The record there is incriminating......

The AP can no longer afford to be complicit in Obama’s cover-up.

Theories abound.

...was the Ambassador to be captured, only to be traded for the blind sheik?

More stunning than this was the CIA spokesman's comments later that day. If you understand how governments speak it was an amazing statement and a very damming finger pointing one.

The ambassador was not meant to die i bet. Smoke inhalation. I bet all along he was going to be captured without a shot being fired hence the stand down orders. Obama frees him and boom, big positive public relations before the election. If,as is widely assumed we arm arming the rebels in Syria would these people attack us at this time? The whole narrative changed when the 2 CIA men went and engaged the enemy with full expectation of help. This story is likely far dirtier than it;s even being reported.

Quite possible the "sodomy" by bayonet 9or other sharp pbjects) was done as a frustration over him not being alive to use in the preplanned swap for their terrorist blind brother.

But a lawyer passing by the scene said he saw the militants gathering around 20 youths from nearby to chant against the film.

Hilarious.

“Pres. Romney’s going to let the Fraud slither away and will call for “healing”, won’t he?”

I don’t think so. ..THIS is the chance to destroy the Socialists for a millenium (OK a generation).

Is Huma taking care of Hillary through all this?

Who scripted the ridiculous , "It's because of a YouTube video" response?

Who are these people ? What is their motive? Obama let those Americans die.

Remember, Obama has taken great pride in saying that Libya was liberated without American blood being shed. Obama did not want potential voters to wake up to our uniformed military being KIA.

So, DOD assets were told to stand down as CIA subcontractors, whose presence could be concealed, were tasked with extracting diplomatic assets from the Mission. Also, those operators were familiar with the battlefield and were leveraged with local friendly militia.

As the battlefield was so unshaped and on/off and populated by hostiles of unknown strength and unknown weapons, this was a reasonable tactical choice anyway.

Other rapid response units that could have gotten there would have been too little and too late.

General Ham and Africom, were frustrated that in this theater of their responsibility, they were not in position to act effectively.

Good post.

The Ambassador’s loss was collateral.

The goals of the hostiles were to:

1. Exploit document and computer file intel regarding oil contracts and weapons movements.

2. Acquire the weapons that the Brits stored at our Mission after they shut down their Mission.

3. Revenge the death of Yahya al-Libi the AQ 2nd in command.

4. Take our Ambassador hostage to pressure the release of the “Blind Sheik”. The hostiles tried very hard to find Stevens but could not. He would have been far more valuable alive to the hostiles.

I agree. And that’s why the FBI couldn’t gain entrance to investigate for a long time. There were lots of weapons that had to be shipped out. These scums know that the more in on the deal, the better change for leaks. But apparently someone in the loop is ashamed and is giving Fox information. They’re probably giving info to all the press but only Fox is reporting it.

Hand pick a team from the FBI and spoon feed them a narrative in drive and drabs for three weeks, all while subtly and continually congratulating them on their individual selection. Send them to Libya to do an impossible investigation, upon return review a moronically simple power point presentation and graffiti pictures over a brunch conference. Finally... Congratulate them on a job well done.

I have no clue about revenge or anything. Lets not forget these people are semi autonomous in the field. Any group can be working with anyone at any point in time. Motive is way beyond me. Maybe they were paid by Syria since Stevens was likely involved in getting weapons to the rebels there. Maybe a publicity stunt since there were apparently a bunch of attackers and very few deaths considering only 2 people fired back and one seemingly by accident. How could they fail to kil or capture more people?
