Handcuffs are not hard to come by. I prefer to have some extra long and strong plastic ties available if necessary. They are not as expensive and useful for many other things.
It is usually not a good idea to attempt to tie up someone that you are holding at gunpoint. There are too many opportunities for them to attack and disarm you. Wait for backup.

I think the most might pick the handcuff option before the rope and a tree.
I really had to “clean” my comments up or I would be in that diversity training class again. From what I heard, you really don’t want to take that class the second time.

And some can be applied to the recipient with minimal action by the applier.
