Handcuffs are not hard to come by. I prefer to have some extra long and strong plastic ties available if necessary. They are not as expensive and useful for many other things.

It is usually not a good idea to attempt to tie up someone that you are holding at gunpoint. There are too many opportunities for them to attack and disarm you. Wait for backup.

I think the most might pick the handcuff option before the rope and a tree.

I really had to “clean” my comments up or I would be in that diversity training class again. From what I heard, you really don’t want to take that class the second time.

Seems like it would be easier if you shot him first, THEN handcuff him.

There are other alternatives to handcuffs and plastic cable ties, too. And some can be applied to the recipient with minimal action by the applier.
