He immediately bashed Romney for pointing it out and then said it was a youtube video, showing how wrong Romney had been. Political points are all that mattered. He knew it was a lie when he said it, but politics too priority.
Sure Obama did something. He jumped right into action and helped cover for the acts of terrorists. He had to cover for his peeps.

They spent months denying them additional security. Their first reaction after they watched this unfold was to bash Romney for pointing it out first, blaming a Youtube video to prove Romney was wrong. Politics too priority. Every day for 2 weeks they doubled down on the story. Their blaming the video likely sparked riots in Muslim countries, governments around the world and even the UN condemned free speech, even Obama at the UN condemned those who blasphemed Islam. ONLY later did they admit there was no protest over a video, only later did they admit it was a planned and coordinated terrorist attack. Then they tried to pretend none of this happened, that they NEVER blamed a video, then they accused Romney of making this a issue. Then Obama jokes on late night TV that it was “not optimal”. DID I MISS ANYTHING??
We need Zippo to be pressured to let Petraeus speak entirely freely before a closed-door session of the House Oversight Committee. If the facts warrant impeachment, let the chips fall where they may.

What does it tell you about our “journalists”?
1. Obama was advised the consulate was under attack by an Al-Qaeda affilliate, realized that such an affair would contradict his :Al-Qaeda is on the run" campaign claims and that reacting militarily would necessarily require him to cancel the celebrity fundraiser scheduled for Las Vegas the next day. For political reasons, he decided to cover up the truth of the matter and, thus, finesse having to make a military response.
2. Obama wasn't involved. Axelrod and/or Jarrett were in the situation room, serving in his stead. Independently, they concluded to fabricate "the video did it" cover and avoid any military action. Obama was briefed accordingly in the morning.
Take your pick.
In any event, another question remains. How did the "Innocence of Muslims" video enter the equation? Obviously, there had to be some prior knowledge of this incredibly obscure posting on You Tube. And how it might be employed in this, shall we say, puzzling capacity.
Which raises a second question: Why was the White House so familiar with this particular piece of Pallywoodian propaganda dross? Had it been spotted earlier and labelled as a possible source of trouble? Or a possible opportunity for misinformation? Or had the Obama network actually been involved in its funding, to further some other nefarious project?
Why was "The Innocence of Muslims" apparently top-of-mind in this drastic situation?
