Excerpted from The Daily Caller: The 2012 presidential election is still more than two weeks away, but on Friday a CBS News affiliate in Arizona called the race for President Barack Obama.

For 17 seconds, Phoenix, Arizona CBS News affiliate KPHO ran a lower third graphic that showed that Obama had won the Nov. 6 election over Gov. Mitt Romney with 99% of the precincts reporting. The lower third graphic appeared around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, during an episode of “The People’s Court.”

The CBS News graphic showed Obama winning the election with 43 percent of the vote nationwide to Romney’s 40 percent -– or 40,237,966 votes to 38,116,216. It is unclear who garnered the other 17 percent in the fictional election results.

There’s a screen capture somewhere on a thread of the same subject earlier today. I think it was from Palin’s FB.

Too bad Dems. No need to vote now. Better luck next election. Remember though, election day is the third Monday of October, ALWAYS.

This kind of stuff reminds me of the old Soviet Union or current day Havana.

Within seconds of viewing the latest polling data showing Romney getting the required 270+ electoral votes security cameras caught two MSM employees accidentally airing false khyron declaring Obama the winner of the Nov. 6 election.

Huh... I guess in their world, the libertarians are pulling a pretty healthy percentage of the vote.

That was supposed to be displayed subliminally. Some heads will roll at that CBS affiliate.

Probably just testing their system. Vote totals are about 50 million shy of the 2008 election, so this really makes no logical sense as fraud. Nevertheless, I do not trust the MSM nor the Democrat Machine, so anything is possible.

That’s what I figured. Imagine though if it were showing Romney the winner. There would be demands to pull their license.

I don't buy the "test" as an excuse. There must be a million other ways to test your broadcast signal or display. If they absolutely HAD to broadcast results, why not put up non-controversial numbers, such as all zeroes? Why not put up names such as "John Doe?"

As a TV techie who actually does this testing, this is my greatest fear! I was monitoring test numbers being fed by AP earlier this week, recalling national and local results screens.

The scariest part, I was at a West Coast station remotely testing two stations in a Mid West state! I wouldn't of had a clue if someone there had it on air.

So much of television tech support today is done remotely across regions or even the entire county from one or two locations.

Could it be intentional, yeah, but pretty unlikely! I wasn't even providing the test numbers, just making sure our interface was putting all the data in the right places. Case in point, on one test screen, the “winning” check mark was next to the losing candidate. We'll obviously have to get the fixed this week.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this, nor surprised if there are more cases that come to light in the next week.
