I would vote for Proposition 37. Scary stuff. This article is interesting but FR wouldn't let me post it since its from Huff Post (I'm no fan either of Huff Post). It states Russia has suspended all imports of GMO corn: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ocean-robbins/gmo-california-vote_b_1955563.html

Poll finds Prop. 37 is likely to pass

Consumers should be provided relevant information about the products that are for sale. I hope it passes.

How has Greenpeace and Fiends of Earth so brain washed even people on FR? Mainly, again, it based on emotion and not science. It not a coincidence that all the left wing websites and the MSM are promoting this proposition. Very sad that we have FR people promoting it.

I was interested in the response from FR - part of me is laissez faire but I do believe there needs to be some food regulation laws that generally keep sellers honest. I don’t believe Monsanto is interested in healthy food and this is one way to push back on their ruthless monopoly.

I believe that people should have a choice in terms of what they consume.

I believe that all products should list “Country of origin”.
I believe that ,since there are several biological tests showing possible side effects of Genetically Modified Foods by independent laboratories, they should be identified as such .

This may be one area where “regulation” is good. That is mandating labeling of products. Let the consumer decide if he wants to buy cheaper GMO products vs. more expensive non-GMO or organic products.

You should watch Food Inc where Monsanto shuts down a local seed cleaner. It is a tragedy, went all the way to the supreme court. Again, Monsanto has spent $7.1 million. Why doesn’t Monsanto test their GMO food longer than 90 days?

Are you aware that one GMO process is to produce food that produces its own insecticides which you then in turn ingest and they can call it “natural”?

Either I screwed up or my post has been deleted...shocking not!

You may choose to feed your “family” whatever you wish, choice is an American value.

Nowhere in the Constitution of the United States of America is there an “article” claiming that we the People must consume genetically modified/bacteria/fungal pesticidal food grown from seed that comes from a Company that has been systematically overtaking the “seed “ industry since the late 70’s.

We just want to know what’s in our food and have a choice.

You feed your family and I will feed mine, both knowing what we are doing.

I believe in transparency. Labeling of foods is a good idea. I want to know the country of origin and what is in it.

on this one you need to vote yes. Monsanto is a bigger monster than the government. Do a bit of research into what they are doing to independent farmers

Exactly. The last thing we need right now is for the price of food to go up even more... This will raise the costs and any producer on the edge will be declaring bankruptcy, or simply not selling to CA.

You sound like an “occupy-wall-street”-er.

Get the evil capitalists! Let’s redistribute the wealth! Long live the proletariat!

Here are the recommendations as listed on the CA GOP website for all the propositions:

http://www.cagop.org/newsdetails.asp?artId=5E5F58

They recommend NO on Prop37
