No, there is a reason Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the country. It’s physical and competitive, moves along nicely, and has set plays like football.

I love lacrosse and coached it for years. When my son tells me that it’s the fastest growing sport in the country, I remind him that when I was a kid the fastest growing sport was soccer...and it hasn’t replaced the NFL in any way.

Still, I hope you’re right.

My son played in high school several years ago when lacrosse was just really getting going here.

My takeaway: If I were Czar, and I mean real Czar and not some wimpy Obama czar, I would ban soccer, issue all the kids lacrosse gear, and make lacrosse the alternative Spring sport (to baseball).

Lacrosse has everything soccer does not. It has scoring, contact, and it requires opposable thumbs!
