Obama has earned a second term /Barf Alert
San Antonio Express News ^ | 21 October 2012 | Express News Editorial Board

The United States will face major challenges over the next four years. For the first time in history, its citizens confront the prospect of handing down to the next generation a nation that is less wealthy, less healthy, less secure and less in control of its destiny.

President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney have both laid out plans to avert such national misfortune. . . . We believe President Obama has demonstrated a better grasp of the essential issues and offers a better vision for the United States. Voters should give him a second term in the White House.

Obama took office four years ago amid a meltdown of the nation's financial, housing and labor markets. He acted swiftly to continue and enhance what had been bipartisan measures to stabilize those markets. He also took new steps to tighten regulations on banks, create a floor under the rising number of home foreclosures and stanch the loss of up to 800,000 jobs per month while also rescuing the U.S. auto industry.

The results: a stock market that has risen more than 60 percent since Obama took office, housing starts in September up 38 percent from one year ago and 31 consecutive months of job growth.

SNIP

Beyond dealing with complex issues he inherited, President Obama has taken initiatives to create a better, fairer society. He ended the deportation of young immigrants who, through no fault of their own, were brought to this country illegally as children. He ended the ban on gays serving openly in the military. And he pushed through the Affordable Care Act that will extend health care coverage to 30 million Americans who, shamefully in this day and age, still lack access to decent medical care.

I believe in two terms for Obama, one in office and one in PRISON.

What do you expect? They didn’t give San Antonio the nickname ‘Chili Switch’ for nothing.

So, what they are saying is how bad our situation has become under obammy, and for this we must re-elect him?

BTW, San Antonio has always had a large Hispanic population, and the majority of them tend to vote liberal.

>> We believe President Obama has demonstrated a better grasp of the essential issues

In the view of the San Antonio Express-News, there is only ONE “essential issue”: Free Stuff For Mexicans. Including unencumbered citizenship for illegals.

the stock market is just barely near where it was when it crashed, just out of the blue tanked, no coincidence at all /sarcasm/

fewer people working now than 4 yrs ago....more people on disability....more people collecting food stamps...more people with free phones....more hamburger jobs and fewer good jobs...

gas doubled....food inflation....health care insurance skyrocketing...the world is a mess and the muslim brotherhood have taken over most of the middle east....

yeah....its just grand out there...

Further reinforcement of my decision not to give this rag any of my money at all. After its endorsement of bathhouse Barry the first time and then Julian (Fidel) Castro, I wouldn’t even read it if it were free. Sheesh, when I came down here I thought this crap was confined to Austin.

Yep. The online comments certainly reflect it.

Sadly, Bexar County and San Antonio are mostly owned by the Democratic Party. Apparently, the Express-News goes along for the ride.

At least the Houston Chronicle got it right. If you did not see the FR post, on Friday they endorsed Romney with a blistering condemnation of Obama.

Four years later, President Obama's deeds have failed to match his words, much less his specific vows to cut the national debt by half and bring the nation's unemployment rate to 6 percent. As Texans, it is a particular vexation that this president's attitude toward the interests of our state has occasionally bordered on contempt, particularly in decisions relating to the NASA budget and the energy sector. The hurtful symbol of this attitude of insensitivity to Texans' feelings was the administration's choice to deny Space City's bid to become home to one of the retired space shuttles.

We do not believe four more years on the same plodding course toward economic recovery is the best path forward for Texas or the nation. And so we endorse the Republican team, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, in the belief that they can do better by Texas and the nation. Romney for president

More infantile, Big Bird fantasy-land liberalism.

Watch out for all the “undocumented” voters in SA.
Look at the mayor, he is like a Hispanic obama, hasn’t done anything, mother hates the US, he’s another “down low” member, etc.

The SA Express News has endorsed Republicans for a long time. They are endorsing Obama because of the illegal issue as well as they are getting ready to put everything behind the Castro brothers for national office.
