PARIS (AP) — A correspondent for France 24 TV was "savagely attacked" near Cairo's Tahrir Square after being seized by a crowd, the network said Saturday. It was the latest case of violence against women at the epicenter of Egypt's restive protests.
The news channel said in a statement that Sonia Dridi was attacked around 10:30 p.m. Friday after a live broadcast on a protest at the square and was later rescued by a colleague and other witnesses. France 24 did not give further details about the attack, but it said its employees were safe and sound, though "extremely shocked," and that it will file suit against unspecified assailants.

These forces the ambassador characterized earlier, among numerous pleas for added security, as “too weak to keep the country secure. Islamic extremism appears to be on the rise in eastern Libya, and the Al-Qaeda flag has been spotted several times flying over government buildings and training facilities ...”

A friend of mine kept telling me that I was wrong about the Muslim Brotherhood. The people in Egypt were “fighting for democracy” and to get rid of the ruthless dictator. She listens only to CNN.

Which is why I haven’t favored picking women as our Secretary of State. Until this old world changes, we need a man in the position that other nations will respect, even if they don’t agree with him. They may not really respect them, but they are much more likely to fear them, and what stands behind them. And that is important.
Hillary Clinton doesn’t believe in threats unless it’s hiring someone to shut up women her husband has raped or abused.

It’s like in “Gone With The Wind”, when Scarlett drives a buggy into the old shantytown all by herself! Those of us who have seen this film know what happened next! If her friend, an old servant who once lived at her home, hadn’t been nearby working, the two thugs who stopped her buggy would’ve probably raped and killed her! If he big Sam)hadn’t knocked these animals into next year, she would’ve been in grave danger! But “Miss Scarlett” was all too brash, and didn’t see it!
Good heavens, what did this news crew with this young lady think would happen? People would line the streets, smile and wave? If 4 grown men in a consulate in Libya couldn’t survive in an attack by a crowd, how on earth could this young lady and a small group of reporters survive an attack by a crowd? Haven’t they heard about a young lady named Lara Logan? Good grief! They have more bravado than common sense!
I just hope it is John Bolton, I can see no other person capable of handling the job at this time.
