Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says in a new interview that she can’t stand “whining” by women who are unhappy with the work and family choices they’ve made in life and complain that they have no options. Clinton, in the interview with Marie Claire, was discussing Anne-Marie Slaughter, a former director of policy planning at the State Department who left in 2011. This summer, Slaughter wrote a much-discussed cover story in the Atlantic - “Why Women Still Can’t Have It all” - about leaving her job because of the difficulty of balancing her work at State with the needs of her two teenage boys. “I can’t stand whining,” Clinton told Marie Claire. “I can’t stand the kind of paralysis that some people fall into because they’re not happy with the choices they’ve made. You live in a time when there are endless choices … Money certainly helps, and having that kind of financial privilege goes a long way, but you don’t even have to have money for it. But you have to work on yourself … Do something!”

I read the “Atlantic” article, and I didn’t think it was whiny. The author simply recognized reality, which is that you can’t be with your family if you’re working all week in another city, and they do notice, and it does matter, unless you have no heart.

Team Clinton tag team today, destroying a couple of Obama narratives (woman as victims (Hil) and economy is back (bill)).

They see writing on wall, and Obama goes under the bus.

Isn’t liberalism all based on being whiny victims??

Tell me Sandra Fluke isn’t whiny

You are probably spot on, she is only going after a specific article because it was true.

He needs the women's vote....why the hell do you think he asked Bubba to campaign for him.

I'm betting it's attached to a promise of Ambassador to Tahiti.

But for now, it means free hugs for Bubba.

I understand that Hillary's father was a staunch republican. I wonder if his DNA has finally overcome years of liberal schooling and marxists associations.

Liberals are whiny because they want reality to be something other than what it is. Sandra Fluke wants sexual promiscuity to be cost-free, and it’s not. Hillary wants Marxism to be a popular and workable ideology, and it’s not.

In my opinion, one of the key characteristics of a conservative is the ability to say, “I consciously chose *this* option from the available possibilities, and the outcome is my responsibility.” Anything about “no choice” is a red flag ... but so is not recognizing the costs of your choices.

Liberals want nothing to do with personal responsibility. Of course, that only works if you have habituated yourself to absolute dependence on a wealthy uncle or, in this case, on the U.S. government.

Of course Liberal government is only to happy to oblige, because it is their only way to get and keep voter support.

Not having a workable and logical plan for Americans Liberals can only get and keep support by promising the sun, the moon and the stars to these irresponsible, lazy idiots.

I did specify “unless you have no heart.” Some biological mothers are willing to completely delegate the upbringing of their children. Others care about being a real part of their children’s lives; the author of the “Atlantic” piece was one of these.
