In the baseball playoffs, the tie goes to the runner. In debates, ties are decided by the moderator and that’s what happened during the Tuesday night presidential debate at Hofstra University in New York. CNN’s Candy Crowley made her presence felt as a moderator in a major way on two points, but none larger than the issue of Libya.
The terrorist attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and four others in Benghazi has become a sore point for Obama, but Crowley made sure she called Romney out before Obama could tag him.
When Romney said Obama had not called the attack an act of terror for 14 days, Crowley interrupted and said: “It -- it -- it -- he did in fact, sir. So let me -- let me call it an act of terror.”
Naturally, Obama asked her to restate her point and she did. “Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” asked the president. “He -- he did call it an act of terror. It did as well take -- it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that,” she continued.
Conservatives were outraged, arguing that Crowley’s interruption spoiled a key Romney point. They weren’t the only ones. Even Politico’s Mike Allen called the Crowley point “arguable” and pointed to the transcript of Obama’s statement saying it “generally” referred to “acts of terror.” CNN’s John King called the Obama statement a “generic” comment about terror, not specifically calling the Libya attack a terrorist act.

the obama campaign has to be secretly incredibly frustrated. Instead of their guy jumping to the front, they are now mired in this debate over Crowley. He still isn’t getting any real attention. This discussion is going to dominate until the third debate, which does not really help an incumbent President.

It’s one thing to call someone Miss Piggy and it just be a gratuitous insult.
It’s another thing to call someone Miss Piggy and for the rest of us to say, “oh my goodness! She DOES LOOK LIKE MISS PIGGY!!!!”
That should be a no brainer issue and every American except muslims could hands down support when spelled out.
Crowley will forever be known as the biased broad who just had to play “Big Mama” for her poor little president, becoming a national joke in the process.
Like Clinton, Obama is such a mama’s boy, always counting on women to bail him out. No wonder he’s such a hit on “Oprah” and “The View.”

Then there was the audience. We kept hearing about the 80+ ‘undecided’ voters who were there, but how about the 300 Hofstra students who were providing the pro-Obama soundtrack (with Michelle of course leading the supposedly-forbidden applause)?
Why or why would the GOP permit not only the stupid townhall format with a liberal moderator allowed to choose the questions and then steer the follow-up, but to hold the townhall of all debates not only on a liberal college campus, but on a liberal college campus in a bluer than blue state? And to do it again, just like they did in 2004?
Perfidy, I say. Not mere stupidity.
Crowley should never be allowed to be the moderator.
Romney was in the process of setting Obama up on the terror call on Lybia. He was making sure he had it down that Obama was on record as calling it terrorism initially, by his own admission, and then was going to absolutely ream him on the following two weeks of a changed story when the UN Ambassador went out, when Obama himself went out, when Hillary went out, Jake Harney and so many others and insisted that it was because of that video...and then ask him simply, why?
Why did you change your story, Mr. President? Why did you mislead and lie to the American people for two weeks? Could it have been political? It sure looks like it to the rest of us.
It would have been a great stroke...but the moderator derailed it. That’s what really happened there. But it will all come out now as people are talking about it everywhere and they cannot hide from it. Monday will set it straight again.

Romney was using a techniques, taught by professionals and used in dealing with habitual liars or those not in touch with reality.
A: THe sky is yellow (when it’s blue)

B: Oh, that’s an interesting idea...We’ll take a picture and have an artist match it on the color wheel.
It’s a method not to call the person an out out liar, but to help them get in touch with reality. They often go beserk when they know they’ve lost an important battle. Dandy simply kept BO in denial and enabled him. Kept him from having a breakdown on live TV. Shame.
Now that we know Romney knows the techniques expect him to use it again.
That doesn't even make any sense, so what was she saying Romney was correct about?
If I'm not mistaken, Romney was trying to make the point that obama [at every opportunity for 2 weeks] talked the video up as the cause of the murders and was cautious to not call it a terrorist attack whenever asked.
And I was so completely disappointed in Candy Crowley! I was under the mistaken impression that she was a legitimate journalist, not just another kneepad leftist apologist for the little faggot bastard and his henchghouls.
I wonder why the democrats would NEVER enter a debate held at BYU or Hillsdale College? ... Yeah, I know, they would never enter a debate scene they didn't already have control over.
This is exactly right. Our side gets to play the "coulda, woulda, shoulda" game for a few cycles and even the MSM, confronted with FACTS seems to be at least shining some dim light on the Emperors New Clothes.

Can someone - anyone - explain to me what do they mean when they apply the "political" tag? I don't get it.
But even outside the debate there is an issue here that is a hands down winner and a serious threat to our freedoms that I do not understand why is being swept under the rugs.
I sit here stunned every day just waiting for the debate about free-speech and that dumb video to come out as still a man sits in jail because Obama needed a cover for an incompetent foreign policy at the least and at most if D.C. rumors are true a wag the dog scheme that is truly hideous added to a possible Fast and Furious Islamic Brotherhood scheme that is treacherous.
Like I said I just do not get it.
