What will happen if some parents rebel against this an give their children educational work to do anyway? Will the gendarmes be called out against the parents?

“He (France’s Socialist Prez) doesn’t think it is fair that some kids get help from their parents at home while children who come from disadvantaged families don’t.”

If you care about your kids, if you want the best for them, if you (THEIR PARENT) help them learn: YOU TAKING SOMETHING FROM OTHER KIDS!

Sorry for shouting but this is the best illustration of where socialism leads us. If it wasn’t so serious it would indeed be funny IMHO

That’s what the Socialist Prez of France says. Saddly I believe this is at the core of all socialism, including Obama’s.

It’s not about helping, encouraging all people to improve. It’s about crippling the healthy so the unhealthy don’t feel bad. Mind numbing, and all to common.

Interestingly, you can go back to the 1950s film “400 Blows” and see the concentration on memorization. What a portrait of the French school system!

Years ago when I first moved to Los Angeles I use to teach chess for this after school program at the liberal Sequoia school, grades K - 8 in Pasadena, CA. They did not give their students homework there either.....until they found out that almost 50% of their 8th graders were having a hard time getting into high school because they didn’t have the reading or math skills to move on the level. Parents started pulling their kids out and they just cut our program out, even though the parents paid for it separately from the school tuition. I didn’t think any of the students were very sharp there. One parent wanted me to teach them how to play to a draw or a stalemate so that way their would be no winners or losers. I said no...the only way they’ll learn to win is from losing and from there mistakes.

This whole idea is absolute insantiy. It is basically telling the people of France that he wants to resign the country to the standards of the lowest common denominator. Rather than let the best and brightest rise, he will actively attempt to suppress them in the attempt to generate “equal outcomes”.

This kind of thinking is straight out of the dark ages, when the RCC discouraged the people from learning how to read. Completely and utterly foolish and I hope the people of France reject this insanity with forceful indignation.
