Hezbollah’s CFO Defects to Israel With Millions in Stolen Funds

Hezbollah’s CFO defected to Israel today with millions in stolen money from Iran. The 29 year-old Hussein Fahs also took with him classified documents and maps. Al-Arabiya reported:

Hezbollah’s CFO has fled to Israel taking with him large sum of stolen money, classified documents and maps, local news media reported on Friday.

The news website, Now Lebanon, cited Hezbollah officials saying that the 29-year old telecommunication engineer, Hussein Fahs, has crossed to Israel carrying with him $5 million in embezzled money from the group. Fahs is also head of Hezbollah’s operational communications network.

In September, Fahs, who is native of southern Lebanon, was arrested along with other four Hezbollah members over the suspicion of embezzling the group’s funds and collaborating with Israel, Yoni Alpert’s Terror Watch reported.

The operation to arrest the five was a collaborative one between Hezbollah and Iranian intelligence. Hezbollah, which has long been a staunch ally to both Iran and Syria, officially became part of the Lebanese government in 2011.

According to Al-Joumhouria newspaper, he was arrested while on his way to an unknown destination by 20 Iranian intelligence officers at Beirut’s Hariri Airport. At the time it was suspected that they stole at least $5 million in Iranian aid funds.

Cases of Lebanese nationals collaborating and spying for Israel are not new.

On Tuesday, Imad al-Zein, a Lebanese Military Tribunal Judge, issued eight arrest warrants against Lebanese citizens charged of collaborating with Israel, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.

I am sure glad he got out. As far as having a CFO, someone has to handle the money, whether they give him that title or not.

Hezbollah is huge just like the the PLO and Hamas. It runs hospitals, schools, etc. It’s not just a terrorist group only. It is a quasi-state really. Not to mention the fact that some experts say Hezbollah gets anywhere from 60 to 200 million dollars a year from Iran. They most certainly would need a CFO.

I suspect he knows who/where they money was going as well.

Hez will likely be suffering some losses if they don’t beat ground fast.

I would have announced they killed him and recovered nothing. Now that this news is public they can adjust as needed.

Hezbollah isn’t just a terror group.

They’re sort of a terror-group/aid society/shadow government/small business incubator all rolled into one. They are perhaps one of the most successful terrorist groups since the IRA. Like the IRA having Sinn Féin as their political arm and having a jobs program on the side.

NB that their CFO is an engineer. This is what the pinheads in politics in the west keep missing. Engineers gone rogue are deadly, deadly people. And we keep letting these clowns into our engineering schools, because so many of our youth are simply too stupid to pursue engineering and keep the engineering schools open.

If he was arrested in September for suspician of embezzlement and giving aid to Israel, why was he free to be able to defect to Israel in past few days? Does not make sense?

I didn't know Iran has powers of arrest in Lebanon? That's a little extra territorial isn't it?

Don’t be surprised if he’s a double agent, sent to Israel to feed misinformation.

Nah, he’s just a crook. But a crook who steals from bad guys.

Let him go buy a beach house, some Russian whores, and enjoy the good life to encourage others to steal from bad guys.

Sure. And give him a bounty for every bad guy the IDF kills or captures as a result of info he provided. 1000 NIS, say. That way he’s encouraged to snitch on bad guys.

“1000 NIS”

Or 25,000 for each one he delivers dead -— 10 for him, 10 for the killer(s), 5 for expenses.

I understand that’s the “going rate” for Iranian weapons people.

From an intelligence value perspective, this get is far bigger than the KSM get. You get the money guy in any enemy organization and you’ve got the nexus between the brains and the heart.

He knows from whence the money came, and where it is going. He knows the backers, and has shaken their hands.

This is big if we don’t f### it up. Obama’s still in office, so I give our chances of NOT f###ing it up at 1 in 3.

But he’s not in US custody. Here we have Ehud Barak. So our chances of f@#$ing it up are about 5 to 1. It has nothing to do with knocking down Jewish outposts, so he’s not interested.
