Mitt Romney now holds a narrow advantage over Barack Obama in the race for the White House -- 46 percent to 45 percent, if the election were held today, according to a Fox News national poll of likely voters released Wednesday.
That’s a six-point turnaround and a three-point “debate bounce” for Romney.
Before the first presidential debate in Denver last Wednesday, Romney had 43 percent to Obama’s 48 percent (September 24-26, 2012).
Romney’s edge comes mainly from independents, white voters and men. Just over half of men (51 percent) back Romney now, the highest level of support he’s received among this group.

What I do not understand is the Rasmussen poll.
Obumbo is only -9 today. This is the first single digit minus
that I can recall in ages.
I think that Obama’a horrible debate performance gave the pollsters the cover they needed to adjust the polls toward a more accurate result.
During a recent Romney campaign stop, a heckler from the audience hollered, “Hey Mitt Witt, where are you hiding your tax returns?
Governor Romney politely responded, “I’ve found a very secure place that I’m certain they won’t be found.”
The insistent heckler, then shouted, “And just where is that, dummy”?
Governor Romney smiled and said, “They are underneath Obama’s college records, his passport application, his immigration status as a student, his funding sources to pay for college, his college records, and his Selective Service registration.
“What’s your next question?”

It would be MUCH higher if Mitt Happens wasn’t a flip-flopping liberal.

I agree. I was thinking that they would have to start adjusting the polls soon. In the end, they do care about their credibility. I think this gave them the chance to do it without anyone questioning them to much.
Well they are under counting Indies which helps Obama since Romney is leading among this group by close to double digits.
When you normalize the polls for the Party affiliation (.+13% D) Romney is above 50% now and leading Obama by >6%.

Rasmussen wrote today that these other pollsters are basically full of hot air, and the race has been static for months. He has always had this close, even when the other pollsters had Obama running away with the election. That’s why his numbers aren’t moving while everyone else’s are.
