Obama adviser: No plans to take down Big Bird ad despite Sesame request

The Big Bird ad stays.

Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs said Wednesday he didn't know of any plans to take down the controversial ad featuring the famous feathery star, despite a request by Sesame Workshop.

Gibbs made the comment on NBC's "Today" show, a day after campaign officials said they were reviewing Sesame Workshop's appeal.

The satirical TV ad featured a menacing voiceover warning of Mitt Romney's anti-Big Bird agenda, playing off the Republican nominee's debate claim that he wants to cut funding to PBS.

"Big, yellow, a menace to our economy. Mitt Romney knows it's not Wall Street you have to worry about, it's Sesame Street," the voiceover says. "Mitt Romney, taking on our enemies no matter where they nest."

Dems are in full panic mode. In my opinion, unless something truly crazy happens Romney has already won the election. This is what panic mode looks like..they are just doing this to get their own base to the polls..that is why Obama goes on The View and hangs out with celebrities, he’s lost everyone else, all he has left are his far left base which he has to beg and plead to go to the polls and vote for him

Ooh! They’re gonna find out pretty quick what we all know: Bumby does whatever he wants to do-without regard for rules, regs, requests or consequences to others.

Hurts, doesn’t it?

What’s a copyright infringement lawsuit to THE MESSIAh and his worshipping sycophants?? It’s not like the laws of us mere mortals apply to them, anyway.

If they win, DOJ/SEC pays a nice little visit to them, and the threat of a lawsuit goes away.

If they lose, they won’t care anyway, somebody else will get to foot the bill for it.

Yes! Go for it Bracky!

I hope Romney shows a counter ad stressing how 0bama talks about Big Bird but ignores the ME and the economy.

Ohhhhh, now I get it. Sesame Street PUBLICLY says they don't want the ad up, but PRIVATELY they approve 100%. Your goose is COOKED, Big Bird!:

I guess the attraction of a brightly colored moving object is more than the Democrats can resist.

They are thinking that a Sesame Street ad will help their cause?

Obama and his gang are working as if they are down to having to count on their filed goal kicker (Biden) and the back up kicker (Big Bird) being the only chances they have of pulling out any sort of a win.

Let us pray for groin pulls.

They basically have to do this. If PBS/NPR thinks that even one penny of their government funding stream is in jeopardy, they will drop every other subject and go 24/7 wall-to-wall with stories about all the wonderful things they do For Our Nation and all the terrible things that will happen if they have to fend for themselves.

They did it during Reagan, and they’ll do it now. They’re certainly making plans to do it if Romney wins.

If Obama wavers, NPR/PBS will drop his reelection as a subject in an instant.

I’d have thought they would take it down after it was panned across the media as a joke. Even Tingles advised against this.

Seriously, keep wasting precious ad buys and campaign money with this foolish ad. As Matt Lauer said, it shows they are out of ideas and have no substance.

Does Gibbsy know if they are being sued for Copyright Infringement? That could involve big bucks.

Big Bird gets a big payday.
