17yrs ago, I was deputized to work undercover with 15 DEA/ATF/US Customs/FBI/IRS Agents in the State Narcotics Task Force. I infiltrated gangs and networks, met with gov’t informants, set-up the shipments/deals/buys and they did the busts and prosecutions. I testified in 26 of the 29 successfully-prosecuted cases. They did let some get away with ‘minor’ stuff, but I witnessed/heard-of nothing ‘major’. They kept a pretty tight rein on all of them. My safety was also at stake, so I took no chances. The Agents/DAs I worked with were real pros, and kept a very careful watch on me, too.

So the top drug and gun enforcement agencies don’t track how often they give their informants permission to break the law on the government’s behalf?
Why no.

From the Article: "The way we use confidential informants is a huge aspect of the daily operation and also the legitimacy of the criminal justice system,"

IOW, they've made selective enforcement of laws such a mainstay of the judicial-system that looking at it too closely will cause the whole house to fall.

I look forward to the day that many of Bamster’s Boys, like AG Eric Holder, are sporting those flashy orange jumpsuits. [I can dream, can't I?]
