Mitt Romney just won the election in last night’s (October 3) debate
Tea Party Tribune ^ | October 4, 2012 | Jonathon Moseley

... The main reason in my view that Obama was crushed last night is that his entire campaign is based on LYING about Romney, and expecting everyone to just accept and believe his lies. When it was obvious that Obama was running against a ‘straw-man’ caricature misrepresenting Republican Mitt Romney, Obama collapsed and looked terrible.

It wasn’t a question of delivery or demeanor or bringing his ‘A’ game.

It was that Obama’s entire campaign against Romney is based upon spreading falsehoods about Romney, which Romney VERY effectively countered. (Many Republicans would have been in the same situation and failed to counter the lies effectively.)

Obama’s entire campaign and message is a house of cards built upon mischaracterizing Romney and Republicans, so when Obama was challenged, his entire message collapsed, he looked dishonest and untrustworthy, and he didn’t know what to do. He was befuddled.

Again, this is not a matter of appearances. This is not about delivery. This is not about being prepared or being a good debater. The problem was the fundamental nature of Obama’s campaign and message, falsehoods about Romney, which gave Romney the easy opening (though Romney did it extremely well) to yank the rug out from under Obama and cause Obama’s house of cards to collapse.

Romney clearly rejected the normal GOP approach of hiding under your bed when Democrats raise negative attacks, and hoping they will go away. Too much of the GOP is dominated by this thinking that if you just pretend you didn’t hear the attacks, maybe other people will forget the attacks as well. If you hide your head behind the couch, with the rest of your body showing, people can’t see you, and the problem will just go away. That’s how GOP self-proclaimed experts want to run campaigns.

Careful out there.

Good show for Mitt, though. Very encouraging!

lets relax a bit people...this was the first debate and we’ve got a month left....can’t get to low over bogus poll numbers or to high over one performance...very promising but not the end all...

fortunately Paul Ryan should carry the momentum next week....continue to play like we are 10pts down...

It's funny and revealing about the "news" media on how they are now spinning that what we saw was a "new" and "different" Mitt Romney. No it's not! It's the same Romney that's been on the campaign trail for months. OK, he had a slightly different approach, but I'm guessing he was prepared to be attacked not only by Zero, but by the obviously left-wing hack of a moderator.

It's just the "news" media's spin because they know they couldn't filter Romney through their Republicans-are-bad filter last night for all the debate viewers. What people saw last night was the real honest-to-gosh Mitt Romney, and it scares the living daylights out of the "news" media.

I've been saying this for months. Whenever a bad poll for Romney pops up, the bed wetters here on FR would begin wringing their hands, telling us what Romney needed to do. And I'd respond by telling them to listen to a Romney stump speech. He's been absolutely excoriating on our Dear Leader. I don't know exactly how Romney will govern if elected, but the meme here on FR that he's the same as Obama can be laid to rest. We saw the glaringly stark differences last night---and so did much of America.

You are 100% correct. This is too easy. While I think Romney did an outstanding job and acted like a world class CEO bringing home the business for his company, to think the democrats are going to give up just like that is really naive bordering on gullible stupid.

Get ready for a counter attack from the MSM/Democrats the likes of which you have never seen. Obama is obviously not the man they pumped him up to be. He never was and the truth is out but get ready for lies, deceit, distractions anything to crush Romney.

This is way too easy even though Romney deserves credit for a great win.

I think a factor overlooked by everyone as to why Obama did so poorly and looked so ill at ease, and why Romney did so well and looked so confident, is because their respective internal polls are showing that Romney is going to win the election and Obama is going to lose.

Thus, Romney could look and act Presidential because he expects to be President, and Obama wanted to be anywhere else than where he was because he doesn’t expect to be President much longer. Obama simply didn’t have the gumption to go down fighting and detested the additional humiliation that was being heaped on him during a futile effort from which he had no escape and during which he had to control his natural petulance and nasty temper. Romney could simply begin acting as President.

My prediction is that the polls will shift dramatically towards R & R after next Thursday’s VP debate where Joe Biden attempts to bring sexy back to the democratic party.

The trump card was craftily played on Tuesday evening.

The 47% was not used because of that. I am sure that was what Obama planned to use to set the evening off and put Romney on defense.

It was taken away last minute because the trump card would have destroyed the 47% percent meme.

I believe that Romney would have used it. Obviously, the Obama camp already knew it watching Romney in the primaries.

Romney may look like he wouldn’t use it, but they knew he would.

Last night’s debate certainly put Romney on the road to victory. And they haven’t even discussed foreign policy yet!

As a community agitator (he has never been much of an organizer), Obama can read teleprompted attacks against men of straw. He can be “eye candy” on The View, take puff questions from Glamour magazine, and play black preacher to a friendly audience. He can be arrogant and dismissive to those he thinks are beneath his genius. He lets his campaign dogs lie and attack on his behalf, post his fake credentials for him, etc.

But all that is a lot different from facing a determined, intelligent person and duking it out verbally. Obama seems to lack the confidence to look a foe in the eye (so he looks down, and has literally bowed down to foreign leaders). Someone who fails this badly in a mere debate surely can’t cut it when the chips are really down.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

Romney winning ASSUMES that he continues with this approach.

If Romney reverts to being a Republican moderate weenie, Romney will be touring the world's golf courses in 2013, not in the White House.

WOW! Fascinating thought.

So, Obama had a game plan which at the last minute he had to pull off the table, leaving a vacuum, because Romney coudl counter-punch with the Obama speech caught on video at Hampton College

That makes a lot of sense, and is highly likely.

Still time for Romney and/or the GOP-E to screw up. If Romney is elected POTUS watch for the move to the center-left to please the MSM and the Democrats.

Well, Rmoney cannot let up. Romney must continue to be the guy he was last night.

But I think he clinched the election because:

1) A lot of people watched the debate.

2) There were solid REASONS why many of the voters were uncomfortable with the FALSE version of Mitt Romney presented to them by the news media and the Democrats.

3) Romney's debate performance demolished and took off the table SOME (not all, but some) of the falsehoods about Romney.

4) So some of the specific resons for voter hesitation about Romney -- falsehoods about Romney --- were taken off th table in the debate and in the spin afterwords.

5) Therefore, enough voters will move over to the Romney column -- even if only in the privacy of the voting booth -- to clinch the election for Romney

I don't know how to answer that. The 47% video is a big nothing. Obama is polling at 47%. Romney said in the video that 47% will support Obama.

However, Obama is caught in blatant racism and race-baiting. Whereas the Romney video does NOT show Romney saying what people want to claim he said, the Obama video DOES show Obama as a racist.

But I didn't say one would "trump" the other.

Iti s simply sufficient reason for Obama not to want to open the door by mentioning the Romney video. Almost nobody knows about the Obama racist video -- the news media has not covered it. So if Obama mentioned the 47%, the news media would be FORCED to tell the whole country about Obama's race-baiting video as soon as Romney brought it up in the debate.

Remember Obama ran is 2008 as the great uniter? The guy that was going to rid the US of racism?

That video shows a petty little race hater and baiter that despises white people and wants to punish them. Jeremiah Wright would have also come back into play because Obama literally gushes over him in that video. Well, Obama says he never really listened to Old Jeremiah.

That video may seem like something we at FR knew about Obama, but remember, the MSM never played that video unscrubbed.

It is like an admission that Obama hates 50% of the voters and has been lying to, and fooling them since he first came on the scene.

The dems knew that and didn’t want that video to be seen by
any more people than those who have already looked at it.

They knew Romney would use it and I believe he was ready for it.
