SACRAMENTO (Reuters) - Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill barring a controversial therapy that aims to reverse homosexuality in minors, the measure's sponsor said on Sunday, making California the first state to ban a practice many say is psychologically damaging.
The move marked a major victory for gay rights advocates who say so-called conversion therapy, also called reparative therapy, has no medical basis because homosexuality is not a disorder.
The bill's sponsor, state Senator Ted Lieu, a Democrat from Torrance, said in a statement that Brown had signed the bill. An announcement from the governor's office was expected on Sunday.
The bill prohibits children and teens under 18 from undergoing sexual orientation change efforts. It got support from the California Psychological Association and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, among others.
"LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) youth will now be protected from a practice that has not only been debunked as junk science, but has been proven to have drastically negative effects on their well-being," Human Rights Campaign President Chad Griffin said in a statement.
He urged other states to follow California's lead.

So is this the protect the perverted homosexual act?
There is no genetic test or procedure (experimental or otherwise) that can determine one's sexual orientation. When people claim to be gay and we believe them, what we're really doing is taking them at their word. We believe their claim, we believe their testimony and we believe their declaration that they are gay.
But there are some people who are suddenly skeptical when one claims to be ex-gay. They don't believe the ex-gay claim, they don't believe the ex-gay testimony nor their declaration that they are ex-gay.
When somebody uses a certain standard to measure the credibility of what one group says, but then refuses to use the same standard to measure the credibility of what another group says--thereby ignoring the claims of the second group (ex-gays)--he should ask himself why he believes one group and not the other... This is a double standard.
At this rate California’s population will soon be wetbacks and perverts...and that’s it.
This will aid in the de-population of California.

Doctor/patient privilege only exists to the extent that liberals allow it, since conservatives are TOO WHIPPED to speak up.

Of course not. They just cannot say, without risking loss of license, which option is healthier.
Any parent there, that has ANY doubt about ANY of their kids, better get the hell out of there before the kid (or, more likely, his school) figures it out and gets a judge to force the parents to keep him there.
If conservatives and/or Republicans were smart, they would amend this legislation to ban conversion therapy for pedophiles. Maybe some liberals would see the absolute lunacy of this legislation, but I’m fearful some would actually support it.
Yep-—education and media is all about blurring the lines and children become completely confused.
Children are vulnerable since they can’t know reality—except how adults portray it. It becomes embedded—the ideas instilled early— even if warped and perverted. It is why the Afghani boys love being dressed like girls and love being sodomized by the men-—it is an honor, brings them gifts and power. Behavior is learned and modeled.
Top that off with normal sexual identity formation where the Latency period is where healthy girls will bond with girls between the ages of 6-13 and actually prefer being with girls and normal boys will bond with boys and prefer being with boys
AND THEN -—the perverts in the schools which Zero and Jerry Brown have given total power in public schools-—tells the little boys and girls that they are homosexual, if they prefer the same sex. BINGO——the child will KNOW they are homosexual. The adults told them so and they know they prefer the same sex.
Think of the confusion THAT will cause——and that is WHY the sodomites want to get to Kindergarten children, because they prefer same sex until puberty when maturation takes them to the appreciation of “other” instead of the self—and like.
This sexual identity formation is crucial and Sex ED is designed to corrupt the normal maturation-—remove morality from sex acts and focus kids attention on sex organs during latency when they have no NATURAL interest in sex.
