Madonna and Obama (both incoherent)
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 9/27/12 | James Taranto

Madonna--the mononymous musician, not the martyr's mom--delivered an odd and perhaps backhanded endorsement of President Obama Monday night. Fox News describes it: "Madonna, 54, . . . stripped down to her bra to reveal 'Obama' stenciled in big letters on her back, before promising (or warning?): 'When Obama is in the White House for a second term I'll take it all off.' "

Here is an opportunity for Mitt Romney to make a Pascal's Wager-like appeal to independent voters. You may be uncertain as to whether Romney will be a good president, but what you stake is finite, whereas the alternative is the infinity of the infinitely horrible.
**snip**
So far, so good, better late than never. But now let's look at the "slander" statement in its fuller context: "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. But to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see in the images of Jesus Christ that are desecrated, or churches that are destroyed, or the Holocaust that is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims and Shiite pilgrims."

There are two problems with this statement. The first is that, after condemning that stupid video for the umpteenth time in the past two weeks, Obama lists a bunch of things that others "must" condemn--but he doesn't directly condemn any of them himself. Not only is his demand for the condemnation of anti-Christian speech, destruction of churches, Holocaust denial, and incitement of intra-Islamic sectarian violence likely to go unheeded, but he doesn't even heed it himself. (Has he ever? Maybe, but certainly not with the same vigor that he has shown in the case of the video.)

Both social debris.

Madonna ? Yeah, brilliant.

And Obama? He’s brilliant. Just ask his teleprompter.

The video of Madonna stringing together a series of expletives and proclaiming the Kenyan as the “black muslim” in the White House should be packaged as an ad (female narrator, of course) and shown to all the squishy soccer mom independents/”undecided” in Northern VA, CO, OH, IA, NH, PA and FL. Is this the moron they want to be aligned with? Are Obama and Madonna really role models for their children?

whereas the alternative [Obama] is the infinity of the infinitely horrible.

LOL! Great phrase!

The thing that most people overlook is that Obama was equating speech (criticism or ridicule of Islam or an Islamic religious figure) with things like killing Coptic Christians in their churches.

He's aiming for laws against free speech by equating it with violence.

He's aiming for laws against free speech by equating it with violence.

Indeed. And the idiot in chief doesn't even realize that what he read from the Teleprompter to the U.N. General Assembly contradicts the recent United Nations Commission on Human Rights decision in 2012 that

the criminalization of libel violates Freedom of expression and is inconsistent with Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The Teleprompter is also attempting to destroy American Exceptionalism by dragging us down to the debased level of other countries, including some Western Nations, which criminalize defamation, even of that supposedly against deceased persons.

Here in the USA, truth is an absolute defense against defamation. Ofinite apparently doesn't like that fact.

You are absolutely right - he is really aiming for laws against free speech by equating it with violence. When he says, "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam" he is vomiting out his Marxist egomania in code speak, hectoring us with his insane dialectical vision of what future is inevitable for us.

Cordially,
