Other than Ted Cruz’s campaign...the most excited I have seen the GOP base this entire election cycle is what I witnessed the past two days in St. Louis surrounding Todd Akin.
There is some tension...within social conservative ranks...about how best to proceed with our political activism. One group prefers perpetuating the old paradigm of partisan, access-based politics. An emerging group, of which I am a part, believes that hasn’t worked and it’s time to put principle before party.

...one name was never mentioned the entire time...Not by...Rick Perry, Phyllis Schlafly, [Akin], and not by anybody. That name was Mitt Romney...When your primary customers either don’t believe in your product enough to promote it, or fear promoting it will lose other potential customers, that’s obviously not a good sign.

The problem with the GOP mirrors the problem with our nation. The minority dictates to the majority. If we can’t pull the GOP back to conservatism why do we think fracturing the GOP and starting a third party would be more effective?
If we can’t defeat the GOPe we will never defeat the DNC. That is my .02
In 4 years most of what the Social Conservatives oppose will be written into law. As Soc Cons should of learned with Roe v Wade it is much harder to overturn something once it is written into law then it is to stop it in the 1st place.
Listen up Huckabees. YOUR GUY IS NOT GOING TO BE THE GOP NOMINEE IN 2016. Trying to sabotage Romney now is not going to help your guy win in 2016. He is politically DOA. Learn to live with it.

No, it means that, other things being equal, organized conspiracies work. The Communists have been here in force since 1919, and their work has returned dividends -- mostly because liberals covered for them, made excuses for them, danced and sang for them when the conspirators struck up a jolly liberal tune, and generally played the fool for people who'd happily murder everyone in North America and call it "historical inevitability".
Riiiiight. Like McCain't the last time. Silly to think that Conservatives would vote for the likes of McCain't, not to mention a flaming liberal like Romney.
But I must give you credit: Your statement above is close enough to how Republicans think that it should be their motto.
A lot of people mistakenly believe that the GOP is a “conservative” party. That’s really not the case at all, and history would pretty much reflect that. The Republican Party only became “conservative” after the 1960s, when the Democrats became dominated by misfits and losers. As a result, a lot of conservatives in Southern and Western states simply became “Republicans” by default. The 1994 Republican Revolution was largely the result of many conservative Democrats in the South and West losing their seats to Republicans.
This isn’t Activism.
Obama being elected not only helped the Tea Party movement, it created it. How does electing a socially liberal Republican help the social conservative movement? Regardless, the discussion in this article is what to do if Romney loses, it's not arguing that he should lose, just that he probably will. They're trying to avoid a snowballing disaster where Romney loses so bad he takes down Republicans in Congress with him.

Roe vs. Wade was never written into law. It's hard to reverse things and it's hard to stop them from happening in the first place. Social conservatives have been trying for decades on both and making little progress. That's why it might be time to think outside the box and find a new strategy. One that doesn't involve being an automatic giveaway vote to the Republican party.
Any review of my posting history would show that not to be true. Try to find one good comment about Obama. You can't do it. I also said I'm voting for Romney.
As a believer in Christian values, I'm not going to lie to help one candidate or another. And hating the Democrats does not preclude acknowledging the truth that the Republican party is broken. Romney wouldn't be the nominee if the Republican party was functioning effectively.
