Planned Parenthood Begins $3.5M Ad Campaign Attacking Romney
Life News ^ | September 25, 2012 | Steven Ertelt

Posted on 09/25/2012 2:04:40 PM PDT by NYer

The Planned Parenthood abortion business officially begins its ad campaign today attacking Mitt Romney — spending millions to attack the candidate supported by pro-life groups to take on pro-abortion President Barack Obama.

The Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the political arm of the company that does more than 300,000 abortions annually and has endorsed Obama, plans to spend more than $3 million to target voters in the battleground states of Ohio and Virginia with ads bashing Romney for wanting to cut its taxpayer funding. The $3.2 million campaign will feature everything from online ads to old-fashioned door to door politics.

The Virginia ads begin this week, while the Ohio commercials start next week.

The new ad, called “Cynthia’s Story,” features a woman who claims Planned Parenthood helped her survive a battle with cancer, even though Planned Parenthood’s abortions increase the risk of breast cancer and no Planned Parenthood abortion centers provide mammograms.

“I could feel a lump in my abdomen. I was very scared. Planned Parenthood saved my life with an early diagnosis of cancer,” the woman, Cynthia Wilson, says in the ad.

The ads also blast Romney’s comments saying he would “get rid of” taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

“When Mitt Romney says ‘Planned Parenthood, we’re going to get rid of that,’ he really doesn’t understand how many women depend on Planned Parenthood,” Wilson says. “We’re talking about real lives here. I believe Mitt Romney is out of touch. I think he just does not have any idea how many lives he’s devastating.”

Planned Parenthood itself has admitted that it does not perform mammograms for women — something the Komen for the Cure breast cancer charity confirmed last year.

“Who use to throw that at you about Reagan? They could not have been well informed. ORomney, on the other hand, is famous for it.”

The people who saw him change the letter after his name. A REAL flip-flop, as you call it. I think it was an honest change of views, so I ignored them for the dumbbells they were.

Time for Romney to respond in the Midwest states with a vivid description of how Obama voted to leave an infant born alive after a failed abortion to die alone and unattended like a piece of trash. This will speak to the heart of his lack of basic human character . If the ad is done right, it could do some major damage to the pos. Like Paul Ryan always says- what kind of a people do we want to be.

It truly should be illegal for a group that directly takes taxpayer dollars, because all budgets are fungible, to run advocacy ads in a political campaign.

Churches, in the past, did not do so, and now only a small minority participates in “faith based initiatives” of the government. The greater part of them do not receive direct taxpayer funding of any of their programs.

Spare me the talk about charitable giving being tax deductible. That is not the government giving anything. That is the individual taxpayer separating church and state in his wallet.

Regan was once a liberal Democrat,... Regan repudiated liberalism.... Regan became a conservative Republican. ... Regan ran for Gov. as a conservative Republican... Regan ran for President as a conservative Republican... Sorry for confusing you.

I’m seeing other sources that say it’s a 501(c)4. But it has a 527 and a PAC. How could that be?

You should learn to never use Reagan by comparing him to the despicable, Reagan hating liberal named Mitt Romney.

Romney has always despised Reagan and conservatism, Mitt even left the GOP in 1979 because of Reagan and the right ascending to control of the GOP. The liberal, draft dodging, pro-abortion, Massachusetts Governor is the anti-Reagan, the opposite of him.

Governor “Ronnie Raygun” was the right wing Governor of California, deeply hated by the left, and loved by the right, unlike failed one term Gov Romney (he left with 34% approval), the man who hated Reagan and was purely liberal, and anti-conservative

You mean 7 years of military service Captain Reagan, who by the second half of the 1940s was already starting to be seen as a communist fighting conservative, testifying to Congress and naming names, working with the FBI, having to carry a gun for self defense from the left, Reagan?

The last time Reagan voted Dem for President was 1948, for Romney it was 1992, By 1952 Reagan was campaigning for Republicans as a “Democrat for Eisenhower”, he kept using that anti-liberal, conservative club until 1962.

In 1952 Reagan was campaigning for Republicans like Eisenhower, who he campaigned for again in 1956, and then campaigned for Nixon against JFK in 1960, already having earned a reputation as an active speaker for conservatism for years.

The Reagan who formally registered Republican in 1962 and spoke at the Goldwater convention in 1964? Romney was already anti-Goldwater and anti-Reagan. Reagan was famous for his conservatism before the Vietnam War, and the Great Society, Roe V Wade, the abortion wars, Jimmy Carter, decades of Cold War defeats, and the radical 1960s, before the Reagan Revolution and the Contract with America, and Clinton, and the Gore election of 2000, Mitt Romney would not even register Republican during the Reagan Presidency or vote for him. Romney, at almost age 60, had a stroke (or something) and suddenly, unexplainedly, became a totally different person around 2006, merely to run for national office.

Reagan and Romney have nothing in common.

“Regan was once a liberal Democrat,... Regan repudiated liberalism.... Regan became a conservative Republican”

Gee, perfessor, thanks for the history lesson...but that was my point. Why is it not possible for Romney to “convert” and remain conservative? Or have you already gazed into one of your crystal balls and found the true future?

Sorry I cornfuzed you.

How very conservative minded of you, telling others what to think. And in a supercilious tone rarely heard outside of Hawvahd Yahd. I suppose it is impossible for Mittens to change because your superior judgement has been passed...nah. I don’t think you have anything but a heart full of hatred. Take care it don’t eat you up.

Read post 29, Romney is a dedicated, lifelong liberal, he despises conservatives, despised Reagan.

Mitt Romney named William Weld as his mentor, this is after Romney was a post Reagan presidency, democrat supporter, and fund raiser.

Just weeks ago Mitt came out against the GOP, pro-life platform.

Don’t cut PP’s government funding, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to afford to shift pools of cash to be able to campaign on behalf of Democrats....

I see, so you weren’t serious at all about this Reagan Romney comparison, it was just you lying and trolling as a Romney, anti-Reagan liberal.

That is why you ignored post 29.

Perhaps you could state the issues that you say Regan flip flopped on as a conservative. I am sure you are aware of Romneys, flip flops as [severe] conservative. I am not aware of Romney ever repudiating liberalism. I do however recall he stated “ I am not a Regan Republican”.

Why? I was making the observation that people can change. You were the mentalist who sees the future. Remember?

The fact remains that, if it were Reagan running today for president with his history, you would be smearing him with just as much venom and distortions and half-truths you are throwing at Romney.
